We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Purchase to play a key role in managing procurement activities for castings, forgings, critical components, valves, actuators, and oil & gas applications. In this role, you will work closely with Production, Quality, Stores, and Finance teams to ensure the timely availability of materials that keep operations running smoothly. If you enjoy combining technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and supplier collaboration, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.\nYour responsibilities\nLead end-to-end procurement of raw materials, castings, forgings, machined components, and company-specific supplies.\nCoordinate purchase requests, verify accuracy, and ensure timely processing of purchase orders.\nSource, develop, and manage suppliers to improve cost competitiveness, quality, and continuity of supply.\nAnalyze quotations, negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts, and support strategic sourcing activities.\nPartner with Production and Planning teams to ensure material availability and meet production schedules.\nConduct vendor audits, supplier performance evaluations, and support compliance with applicable industry standards.\nEnsure procured materials meet specifications, engineering drawings, and standards including API, ASTM, ASME, EN, PED, and ISO requirements.\nMonitor inventory levels, inventory turnover, and aging stock to minimize shortages and excess inventory.\nCoordinate incoming material inspection, resolve supplier quality issues, and drive corrective actions when required.\nMaintain procurement documentation, ERP records, purchasing reports, shipment tracking, and coordination with logistics and stores teams. \nExpectations from you\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.\n7-10 years of experience in plant procurement.\nExperience in castings, forgings, valves, actuators, or the oil & gas industry.\nStrong knowledge of casting and forging processes, materials, and procurement practices.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.\nExperience with vendor development, contract management, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis.\nKnowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and procurement documentation.\nUnderstanding of quality standards, inspection requirements, and audits such as API, ISO, ATEX, and PED.\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management skills.\nWillingness to travel for vendor development activities and supplier audits.\nTo succeed in this role\nSuccess in this role requires strong expertise in plant procurement, supplier management, and sourcing of castings, forgings, and critical engineered components. You will need to combine technical understanding of materials, drawings, and industry standards with strong commercial judgment to negotiate effectively, optimize costs, and ensure reliable supply.
