Working with design engineers, you will assess structural integrity and provide calculations and recommendations for product development and design verification. As part of the team, you will support various business units across Valmet with structural analysis expertise. If you enjoy combining analytical thinking with practical engineering impact, this could be the next step in your career.\nThis position can be based at any of our main Swedish sites: Gothenburg, Karlstad, or Sundsvall.\nYour responsibilities\nPerform static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses using ANSYS.\nDevelop and validate FE models for our machines and other equipment, evaluate the results and document conclusions and recommendations.\nWork with design engineers to dimension and improve components and structures, considering strength, manufacturability, reliability and cost.\nCarry out analytical and code-based design calculations for pressure vessels and other structures in accordance with applicable standards. Check FE results using analytical methods and participate in design reviews.\nSupport material selection, improve analysis methods and investigate structural problems and their causes.\nWhen needed, perform measurements and field studies on our machines and equipment to support R&D or failure analysis and resolve technical problems.\nExpectations for you\nYou hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.\nYou have at least three years of industrial experience in structural analysis, ideally involving heavy machinery, pulp and paper or energy applications. Experience with pressure vessels and code-based design calculations is an advantage.\nYou are proficient in a major FEA platform, such as ANSYS, Abaqus or Nastran, and have a strong foundation in solid mechanics, materials science and structural dynamics. Experience with ANSYS is an advantage.\nYou explain technical results clearly and work well with other engineers. Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo is an advantage.\nYou have good spoken and written Swedish for day-to-day collaboration.
