Headquartered in Espoo, Finland, the publicly listed enterprise operates through two core segments: Biomaterial Solutions & Services and Process Performance Solutions. Its product portfolio ranges from complete chemical pulping lines, paper machines, and biomass power boilers to advanced distributed control systems (Valmet DNA) and industrial flow control valves and pumps.

Join Valmet as a Systems and Applications Engineer and support customers across the pulp & paper, power generation, process, marine, and minerals industries. • Identify opportunities to improve customer processes and support the long-term success of customer operations through Valmet solutions.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Company health, safety, and environmental standards.

Expectations for you

  • HNC/HND qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Good working knowledge of industrial automation systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and HIMA.
  • Experience working with industrial control and automation systems in process industries. Experience in the pulp & paper industry, energy sector, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Ability to plan and execute work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience preparing accurate and timely technical documentation and service reports.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to support customers.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

It would be an advantage if you have

  • Experience with Valmet DNA DCS/QCS systems.
  • Experience with online and offline analysers.
  • Experience with HIMA Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Experience identifying additional business opportunities and service improvements at customer sites.
  • Additional language skills beyond English.

To succeed in this role

You are a highly motivated and self-driven engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working directly with customers. You combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative approach and are comfortable working independently while remaining an active and supportive member of a wider service team.
