In this customer-facing role, you will deliver automation services, projects, maintenance, and technical support for Valmet’s installed base across the UK and Ireland.\nReporting to the Area Service Manager, this role is ideally based in the Leeds/Sheffield area, supporting customers across Northern England. While your primary focus will be the regional installed base, occasional travel within the UK and Europe will be required.\nYour responsibilities\nDeliver customer support, maintenance, inspections, and breakdown services across Valmet's installed automation systems.\nSupport the delivery of automation projects and software development activities for customers across multiple industries.\nProvide routine and on-demand technical support, including documentation and system maintenance activities.\nDiagnose, repair, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.\nParticipate in periodic out-of-hours on-call support to ensure high levels of customer service.\nBuild and maintain strong customer relationships while representing Valmet in a professional and customer-focused manner.\nIdentify opportunities to improve customer processes and support the long-term success of customer operations through Valmet solutions.\nEnsure all activities are performed in accordance with Company health, safety, and environmental standards.\nExpectations for you\nHNC/HND qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.\nGood working knowledge of industrial automation systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and HIMA.\nExperience working with industrial control and automation systems in process industries. Experience in the pulp & paper industry, energy sector, or related industries is highly desirable.\nAbility to plan and execute work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.\nAbility to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems.\nExperience preparing accurate and timely technical documentation and service reports.\nAbility and willingness to travel as required to support customers.\nFluent written and spoken English.\nIt would be an advantage if you have\nExperience with Valmet DNA DCS/QCS systems.\nExperience with online and offline analysers.\nExperience with HIMA Safety Instrumented Systems.\nA Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.\nExperience identifying additional business opportunities and service improvements at customer sites.\nAdditional language skills beyond English.\nTo succeed in this role\nYou are a highly motivated and self-driven engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working directly with customers.
