This person must be a highly driven individual that will use sub arc welding in the 1G & 2F positions, Gas Metal Arc Welding in the 2G & 2F positions using the spray transfer mode to weld steel components together or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.\nEssential Functions\nUtilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipment.\nMaintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner.\nThe ability to produce high quality welds by means of GMAW and SAW in the fabrication of utility structures with low non-conformity rate.\nPerform welding operations requiring planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determine operation sequence while consistently meeting production goals.\nResponsible for longitudinal welding of shaft seams to complete a full penetration weld.\nAdjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings.\nRead and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms and blueprints.\nOther duties as required and/or assigned.\nImportant Details about the Role\nThe employee must maintain a safe and productive work environment producing quality products complete and on time to satisfy the needs of the customer.\nThe employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, TME (total manufacturing expenses), and customer satisfaction.\nThe employee is responsible for their own work.\nRead and interpret blueprints and flat sheets without assistance to properly weld products.\nSetup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment without difficulty.\nMake mathematical calculations in preparing products or setting up the machinery.\nMust be able to work with other employees to complete jobs.\nThis position reports to the Production Supervisor.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)\nMust be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.\nMaintain a safe and productive working environment.\nWear the required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.\nAbility to consistently meet or exceed production goals while not sacrificing safety or quality.\nAbility to read weld symbols, understand blueprints and perform basic mathematics.\nMust be able to pass and obtain Submerged Arc Welding in the 1G and 2F positions certification.\nMust be able to pass and obtain Gas Metal Arc Welding in the 2G and 2F positions certification.\nWelds must be able to pass UT, which requires a high skill level.\nBasic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.\nMust have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.\nAbility to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferred.\nMust be able to use and accurately read a tape measure.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds.\nCommunicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner.\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.\nThree (3) to Five (5) years of previous, hands-on GMAW and SAW multi-pass welding experience in a production environment.\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times.\nFive (5) + years of previous, hands-on GMAW and SAW welding experience in a production environment.\nFive (5) + years of previous experience in a professional welding position\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nAWS certified welder operator qualification\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
