Apply now.\n2nd Shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am; M - Th)\nStarting Wage $26.32/hr + $1.50 shift differential\nThe CNC/Plasma Table Operator is an Individual Contributor responsible for the setup and operation of various pieces of CNC equipment, including a Plasma Drill and Plasma Table, to drill and/or cut predetermined sizes of steel sheets and/or holes and patterns into steel plates.\nEssential Functions\nProgram the automatic operation of the plasma drill and/or table and verify dimensions from shop drawings\n\nObserve operation and periodically verify conformance of machined work to process sheet, specifications and blueprint data\n\nMaintain the cleanliness of work area including all equipment and machinery\n\nUse overhead crane to load/unload machinery\n\nAbility to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work both in a non-temperature controlled environment and outdoors\n\nOther duties as required and/or assigned\n\nImportant Details about the Role\nSetup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment without difficulty\n\nMake mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery\n\nRead and decipher blueprints and flat sheets without assistance\n\nThe employee must maintain a safe and productive work environment producing a quality product which is shipped complete and on time to satisfy the needs of the customer\n\nThe employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, and delivery\n\nThis position reports to the Production Supervisor\n\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\n1 year of previous experience in a heavy manufacturing setting\n\nThe ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings\n\nThe ability to operate overhead cranes\n\nThe ability to read a tape measure\n\nThe ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues\n\nThe ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people\n\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions\n\nThe ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment\n\nThe ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds\n\nWear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations\n\nMaintain a safe and productive working environment\n\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\n\n1 year previous experience setting up and running CNC machinery\n\n1 year of previous experience with overhead crane operations\n\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions\n\nThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner\n\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times\n\nMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results\n\nWorking Conditions & Physical Efforts:\nWork is primarily performed in an indoor shop environment. This position will be exposed to all hazards located at manufacturing sites including noise, fumes, excessive heat/cold, dust, welding arc, all chemicals associated with the manufacturing areas, smoke and confined spaces. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The job requires safety glasses, hearing protection, and metatarsal safety shoes be worn at all times. The employee must be able to spend the entire work shift on their feet within the shop environment. The incumbent must also be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) for working in the production facility.\nHazards:\nThis job requires handling metal objects some of which have sharp edges.
