We are looking for a highly driven individual who will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Additionally, you will…\nFuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures\n\nPerform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence\n\nMaintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner\n\nMay be called upon to operate other machines in the shop\n\nRequired Qualifications\nTwo years of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment\n\nThe ability to pass welding hand-on test and written assessment\n\nThe ability to pass and maintain weld certification to meet AWS, CWB and several other customer certifications in GMAW welding\n\nThe ability to read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets without assistance and use them to properly weld scheduled work\n\nKnowledge of visual weld quality, penetration and appearance for finished shafts\n\nKnowledge of how to accurately read a measuring tape\n\nHighly Qualified\n3+ year of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment\n\nTwo years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment\n\nAmerican Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized school\n\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times\n\nThe ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision\n\nMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results\n\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
