Apply now.\nA Brief Summary of This Position\nValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Logistics Transportation Supervisor position in our Corporate Shared Services organization. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will provide the most efficient and economical value to the success of application solutions and optimization.\nEssential Functions\nThis position reports into the Senior Logistics Operations Manager with hourly direct reports.\nTravel overnight up to 15% (domestic and international) to support Logistics and TMS business development.\nSupply Chain System Management and Analysis:\nEffectively manage projects relating to the development and implementation of Logistics project plans.\nMaintain and update detailed Logistics savings and recurring Logistics performance models, and provide analysis to senior management on weekly, monthly, and/or ad hoc basis.\nDefine and develop Logistics performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of Logistics factors, and provide ongoing analysis in areas such as transportation costs, carrier service and delivery processes.\nCollaborate with other departments to integrate Logistics with business systems or processes, such as procurement, order management, accounting, sales, marketing, logistics, production, or shipping.\nFormulate mathematical, statistical, and simulation models of Logistics risks, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.\nValidate data in various databases to ensure accuracy and consistency, identify root causes of data inconsistency, and implement corrective action plans to meet business requirements.\nDemonstrate full knowledge of the product lines and ERP systems, and serve as a technical leader for assigned systems and/or service development, ability to educate and train end-users.\nProvide complex Logistics system (TMS) support and guidance to department members, research and respond to requests from functional groups, and resolve questions and issues related to reports and databases on a timely manner.\nAssist with development of projects plans to meet deadlines for major initiatives, drive various groups and cross-functional projects to promote smooth implementation of Logistics initiatives.\nLogistics Strategy and Optimization:\nCollaborate with Supply Chain management team to forecast demand, establish forecasting procedures, models and quotas to identify changes and trends.\nCollaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of Logistics problems and to clarify management objectives.\nChallenge current Supply Chain and logistics strategies for product lines in order to make sure that the best and most appropriate strategy is being used, and to implement a technology-driven Logistics strategy that effectively and efficiently respond to customer and market demand.\nIntegrate the business strategy and knowledge of business system capabilities into vision, and evaluate effectiveness of current and future logistical initiatives.\nOther Important Details about the Role\nSupport business functions, working with functional leaders and providing periodical and ad-hoc analyses and reports as required.\nExecute project management disciplines to ensure projects and tasks completed on time and within budget, and business requirements delivered.\nDemonstrate thorough financial and statistical knowledge and ability to handle complex analytical issues on ad-hoc basis.\nAbides by all policies and procedures of Valmont Industries, Inc.\nConducts research and seeks methods for moving the company to lean manufacturing.\nProjects as assigned by senior Logistics Leadership.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nPreferred Bachelor’s with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience.\nExperience with integrating and implementing Logistics processes.\nStrong understanding of Logistics / Transportation principles, practices, and procedures in manufacturing environment.\nAdvanced Microsoft Suite software skills, especially Excel modeling, Excel data analysis.\nWorking knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning ERP software and related tool pack, IFS.\nHands on experience of logistics planning software: Transportation Management System TMS.\nAbility to work with various software packages.\nStrong understanding of project management principles.\nExperience with integrating and implementing Logistics/Transportation processes.\nPassion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.\nAbility to travel up to 15% (both domestic and international).\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain management, Information Technology, Operations or Finance.\nAdvanced knowledge of business intelligence and/or analytical/statistical software: Oracle, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Minitab.\nKnowledge of project management and process mapping software: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio.\nStrong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives.\nWorking Environment and Physical Efforts\nWork is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 15% travel expectations that require overnight stays. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment.
