Apply now.\nThis is a 2nd Shift position.\nEssential Functions\nAbility to perform the functions of the job while adhering to the Safety Absolutes. \nOperate a hand-held grinder to finish small part components\nLoad machine programs, as needed, specific to product orders\nProcess material in accordance with shop drawings through the use of designated machines\nTroubleshoot causes of operating errors and determine possible resolutions\nMaintain material traceability\nSeek opportunities for improvements within the manufacturing department\nPerform tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime\nDetermine machine maintenance needs and perform light maintenance, as needed\nManage time to efficiently produce quality products within designated work hours\nCommunicate information and provide feedback, in person, with co-workers, Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor &/or Production/Operations Manager\nPerform lean, 5S, and/or general housekeeping\nOther duties as required and/or assigned.\nImportant Details about the Role\nThe employee is responsible for their own work.\nMust be able to work with other employees to complete job.\nSetup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment without difficulty.\nMake mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery for specific parts.\nThe employee must maintain a safe and productive work environment producing a quality product which is shipped complete and on time to satisfy the needs of the customer.\nThe employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, TME (total manufacturing expenses), and customer satisfaction.\nThis position reports to the Production Supervisor.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nMust have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record\nThree (3) to five (5)years' experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nStrong hands-on working knowledge operating machines\nAbility to read and understand blueprints/shop drawings\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions\nMust be able to read a tape measure to within 1/32”\nAbility to physically lift, push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds\nDemonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times.\nMust be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nFive (5) + years of previous experience operating machines in heavy/fast paced manufacturing environment (For example: Drill, Lathe Press, Saw, Stretcher, Tapering)\nExhibits strong mechanical knowledge\nThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
