Apply now.\nA Brief Summary of This Position\nShift available: Friday to Sunday 5PM to 5AM\nFor the Maintenance Lead role within Valmont we are looking for a highly driven individual to perform and mentor skilled technical work in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will, while working under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, direct all activities regarding maintenance and facility maintenance operations at their site. This is done within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings. This Lead role has a wide electromechanical knowledge and high degree of proficiency.\nEssential Functions\n· Must be able to perform all job activities related to the employee’s current maintenance classification at a high level\n· Responsible for making sure that all maintenance employees are using and wearing all required PPE for their specific duties\n· Responsible for reporting all injuries that transpire on the shift to the Supervisor and the EHS Manager as soon as possible\n· Understand the goals for their respective department and drive the team to meet or surpass those goals\n· Assist the Supervisor to coordinate the maintenance employees to complete repairs and special projects to meet goals within the department and the site\n· Coach and motivate the crew to perform at their highest level\n· Help introduce and drive Lean techniques and methodologies\n· Understand and drive cost reduction efforts within the department and the site\n· Responsible for enforcement of all Valmont policies and procedures within the department\n· Ensure employee engagement and morale within the department, informing supervisor or HR department of any causes for immediate or major concern\n· Manage activities related to daily maintenance scheduling to complete all breakdown repairs in a timely manner\n· Assist Supervisor with ordering and tracking of spare parts and working with MRO as needed\n· Establish and enforce quality expectations to meet or exceed the customers’ expectations\n· Promote, institute, and maintain a safe, clean, and hazard free work environment\n· Be responsible for the maintenance of the facility, housekeeping, and equipment during the shift\n· Create corrective work orders, release PM work orders and ensure on time completion\n· Review projects and work assignments for potential hazards and recommend safest ways to complete the job\n· Ensure that maintenance mechanics are following the LOTO provisions of the hazardous energy control program\nResponsible for performing preventative maintenance & repairs on all plant equipment and facilities including hydraulic machines, presses, shears, cranes, welders, mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.\nResponsible for the repair of worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures. Makes new installation of equipment and performs major repairs/replacements.\nSeek opportunities for efficiencies and improvements within the maintenance department.\nProper installation of equipment ensuring that necessary safety standards are adhered to.\nPerforms maintenance tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime.\nSupport manufacturing demands including working during non-peak hours (e.g., off-shifts, holidays, weekends, etc.) as required/assigned).\nRespond to on-duty emergency requests and after-hours call-ins.\nPerforms strategic preventative maintenance; continuous improvement of maintenance systems and practices.\nAbility to coordinate maintenance activities with other departments.\nThe ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.\n· Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines\n· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.\nPerform new installations of equipment, including high and low voltage systems and major repairs and replacements\nComplete diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, precise measuring, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components\nUse troubleshooting aids, such as volt, ohm and amp meters, meggers, anemometers, tachometers and any other tool used to diagnose equipment to interpret readings\nPerform pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical electronic troubleshooting and repair plant production equipment\nImportant Details about the Role\nThe employee is responsible for own work, as well as leading/delegating to other team members.\nMust be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\nMust display an aptitude for problem solving and the ability to plan for or around future needs or problems.\nAlthough most of this job is covered by standard practices, good common sense and quality control procedures are essential aspects of completing this job in a successful manner.\nMust be able to determine when equipment should be removed from or returned to service\nMust be able to identify and report hazards\nMust be able to work with other employees to complete job.\nThe employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, TME (total manufacturing expenses), and customer satisfaction.\nThis position reports to the Facilities Manager.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nundefined\nSix (6) to Nine (9) years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.\nAssociates degree in industrial maintenance, engineering and/or equivalent.\nRequires working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics or electrical applications.\nBasic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.\nThe ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people.\nThe ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment.\nAbility to be Valmont trained and certified in operation of forklift.\nWear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.\nMaintain a safe and productive working environment.\nPhysically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.\nMust be available for on-call rotation.\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\n10+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.\nTechnical training in industrial machine types\nThree (3) or more years of machine mechanical/electronics experience.\nPrevious experience leading/supervising people in a maintenance role.\n Experience in three or more areas - CNC, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, metalworking.\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times.\nWorking knowledge of single and three phase electrical circuitry with an ability to read electrical schematics.\nAbility to read and understand blue prints.\nExperience performing all position arc and wire feed welding on steel and aluminum.\nExperience with pneumatics, hydraulics, water and natural gas plumbing.\nExperience with mills/lathes.\nMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
