Apply now.\nLocation: Valley, NE Facility (onsite) | Spring 2027\nA Brief Summary of This Position:\nValmont is seeking a motivated and driven Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Global Agriculture division. In this role, you will contribute to the goals of the Mechanical Engineering team while gaining hands-on experience and learning industry best practices from experienced engineering professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization, and gain exposure to various areas of the business.\nAs part of Valmont's internship program, you will participate in project work, leadership development activities, job shadowing, and interactions with senior leadership, providing a well-rounded professional development experience. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and may involve up to 10% domestic travel during the summer, providing exposure to customer interactions and field operations.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nEngage in design and development activities to meet project requirements\nWork with individuals from Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Operations, Service and Engineering Services to ensure design efficiency and manufacturability\nParticipate in technical design review meetings and conference calls and provide mechanical design direction and input\nLearn and follow standard design and development procedures, recommending updates to design procedures when needed\nDevelop modifications to existing designs and products to meet changes in manufacturing capabilities, support cost reduction activities, and address reliability and warranty issues\nBe involved in the engineering design and development of new products to meet requirements as defined by the Product Management team\nResponsible for maintaining good relationships with customers, field personnel and other Valmont departments to ensure the most efficient working environment\nResponsible for coordinating and conducting laboratory or field testing as situations dictate\nProvide technical support to other departments as required toward meeting the needs of our customers\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nJunior pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering\nStrong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)\nMechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities\nOrganized, driven, and eager to learn\nAbility to travel domestically up to 10% during the internship\nPreferred:\n· Experience in an agricultural setting\n· 3D computer aided design experience\nWhat You’ll Gain:\nPaid internship with meaningful, career-related work experience\nAbility to participate in 401K plan\nTuition assistance and medical benefits available based on hours worked\nPart-time during the academic year, full-time and flexible in the summer, with potential for a full-time position post-graduation\nA supportive culture focused on learning and growth\nOpportunities to collaborate with intern peers and company leader\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
