This person must be a highly driven individual that will apply paint and/or powder coat Valmont products per customer requirements.\nEssential Functions\nAbility to perform all duties and/or responsibilities of a Paint Associate A.\nResponsible for determine the amount of coating applied and give statisfactory or specified coatings.\nAbility to mix and blend paint for color, texture, and customer related finishes.\nResponsible for applying paint/powder coating to customer supplied parts per customer requirements.\nPrepare finished goods for shipment.\nBlasts the product using a blasting cabinet and ensures the product has a sufficient blast profile .\nResponsible for blowing shot and dust off of parts and repairs all damaged galvanizing and removes all oil and contaminates.\nResponsible for final visual quality check of poles.\nPerforms basic maintenance on blasting, rigging, and packaging equipment.\nAbility to lift an average weight of 20 to 40 pounds, 40% of the time(i.e., all small parts, arms and pedestal bases), and lift 50 pound containers 5-10 times per shift .\nAbility to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work both in a non-temperature controlled environment and outdoors.\nAbility to spend 100% of the shift standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, balancing, stooping, kneeling and lifting in the process of preparing and/or coating of all poles and parts within the department.\nAbility to operate fork lifts, overhead cranes, power tools, packaging equipment, lowerators, and blasting equipment.\nOther duties as required and/or assigned.\nImportant Details about the Role\nThe employee is responsible for own work .\nMust be able to work with other employees to complete job .\nHelps train employees in proper packaging, blasting, and hanging techniques .\nMust be able to determine the acceptance or rejection of finished coated poles and small parts according to standard specifications.\nThe employee must maintaina safe and productive work environment producing a quality product which is shipped complete and on time to satisfy the needs of the customer.\nThe employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, TME (total manufacturing expenses), and customer satisfaction.\nThis position reports to the Shift Lead.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nThe ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.\nBasic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.\nThe ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.\nThe ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people.\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions .\nThe ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment.\nRack and unrack parts, brush off, fill, sand, and clean parts for painting.\nEnsure high quality products with visual quality check.\nMaintain and operate painting, blasting, rigging, and packaging equipment safely.\nPrepare paint booth, clean and set-up paint application system.\nWear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.\nMaintain a safe and productive working environment.\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nOne year of previous experience in a painting or manufacturing position.\nExperience operating overhead cranes and forklift.\nExperience using dry mill thickness gauges, wet film thickness gauges and micrometers.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times.\nMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.\nEducational Background\nAble to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and fraction conversion)\nAble to read and comprehend routings and blueprints\nAble to use a tape measure\nAble to use a computer to enter production date, perform time keeping functions, interface with machines and other equipment\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
