Apply now.\nA Brief Summary of This Position:\nThis position is responsible for Quality Control (QC) coordination and execution of both internal and external inspections, internal and external audits, and creation, revision and enforcement of divisional, company, and customer procedures and specifications. In addition, this position works with vendors, customers, 3rd party auditors and personnel from various departments and locations within Valmont to identify and develop quality assurance action plans and procedures.\nEssential Functions:\nPerforms a variety of statistical processing control (SPC) measuring, data gathering and analysis.\nObserve operating activities throughout all production areas; making recommendations, developing action plans and following up to ensure that action plans are effectively implemented.\nTo represent the quality control department on task force committees related to continuous improvement activities.\nDevelop and modify procedures and work instructions for inspection and processing of various manufactured and purchased products.\nProvide additional QC support to areas as determined by Site Leadership.\nIncumbent will often act as backup support in QC Supervisor/Manager’s absence.\nIncumbent shall provide and or coordinate training to support departmental and customer needs.\nCoordinate inspections for customer with 2nd and 3rd party inspectors.\nOrder review to ensure compliance with customer requirements, to include documents, notifications, and deliverables.\nProvide QC technical assistance to other Valmont Manufacturing locations.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):\nAssociates degree with at least 2 years’ of quality control experience OR at least 5 years of quality control experience.\nMust have two years of experience in a steel fabrication setting.\nMust be AWS CWI certified or able to become so within 2 years of eligibility.\nLevel II certifications in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A in Magnetic Partible Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or a solid understanding of NDT methods.\nMust be proficient with a computer in Microsoft office programs.\nAble to work with minimal supervision.\nAble to communicate effectively by multiple means.\nAcceptable prior performance and attendance record\nMust be able to pass a visual acuity exam per American Welding Society’s guidelines\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\n4 years or more of Quality Control experience, preferably in the metal fabrication industry.\nLevel II certifications in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A (latest edition) in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).\nAssociates Degree in Non-Destructive Testing, Welding, or Metallurgy.\nPrevious experience working with or as a 3rd party auditors and inspectors.\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
