Apply now.\nA Brief Summary of this Position:\nValmont’s Internal Audit team provides valuable insight into Valmont’s global operations and strategic initiatives. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with leaders across the organization, develop deep business knowledge, and build a strong foundation for future career growth within finance, accounting, or operations.\nThe Senior Auditor supports Valmont’s Internal Audit function by leading and executing SOX compliance and risk-based internal audits across U.S. and select global operations. Reporting to the Audit Manager, this role is responsible for planning and performing audit procedures, evaluating internal controls, identifying operational and financial risks, and recommending improvements to strengthen internal control and business processes.\nThe Senior Auditor collaborates closely with stakeholders across Corporate Accounting, Controllership, and operational teams to support the company’s annual internal audit plan and promote effective risk management and governance practices. This position provides exposure to a wide range of business functions and global operations.\nEssential Functions:\nLead audit engagements including planning, process walkthroughs, fieldwork, and reporting for SOX and operational audits.\nPerform process walkthroughs to document key processes, identify risks, and evaluate the design of internal controls.\nExecute testing of SOX and risk-based controls and procedures in accordance with internal audit standards.\nPrepare clear, organized, and well-documented audit workpapers supporting audit conclusions.\nAnalyze testing results to identify control deficiencies, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.\nDevelop clear, concise audit findings and practical recommendations to strengthen internal controls and operational processes.\nSupport audit planning by assisting with risk assessments, defining audit scope, and developing testing strategies.\nCoordinate information requests with Corporate Accounting, Controllership, and operational.\nPrepare audit reports and management action plans and present findings to Internal Audit leadership and business stakeholders.\nTrack remediation activities and validate the resolution of audit findings.\nBuild effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and promote awareness of internal control best practices.\nSupport the annual internal audit risk assessment and development of the audit plan.\nProvide guidance and coaching to junior audit staff where applicable.\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n4+ years of relevant audit experience, preferably in public accounting or internal audit.\nExperience performing SOX testing and evaluating ICFR using the COSO framework and U.S. GAAP.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to management.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software tools.\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20-30%.\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:\nProfessional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).\nMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nExperience leading, mentoring, or developing junior audit staff.\nExperience working with ERP systems and financial reporting environments.\nExperience using data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, ACL, IDEA, or similar tools) to support audit testing.\nExperience auditing manufacturing or global operations environments.\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
