Position Summary:
The Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor is an experienced individual contributor who leads proactive sourcing and full-cycle recruitment for technical, professional, manufacturing, operations, and corporate roles. This role partners with hiring leaders to define talent needs, build strong candidate pipelines, and deliver an efficient, inclusive candidate experience. The advisor uses talent-market insight, recruiting technology, and data to improve hiring outcomes and strengthen Valmont's employer brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned openings and recurring talent needs, with emphasis on hard-to-fill and business-critical roles.
- Proactively identify, engage, and nurture active and passive candidates through direct outreach, professional networks, referrals, talent communities, events, digital platforms, and other relevant channels.
- Build and maintain diverse, qualified pipelines; track sourcing activity and conversion to continually improve channel effectiveness.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment from intake through offer acceptance, including screening, interviewing, assessment coordination, references, and offer development.
- Advise hiring managers on role requirements, candidate profiles, talent availability, sourcing approaches, selection practices, and realistic hiring timelines.
- Create a high-quality candidate experience through timely communication, transparent expectations, and effective relationship management.
- Provide talent-market intelligence and recruiting data to support hiring decisions, workforce priorities, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate requisition and candidate information in Workday and ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and applicable employment requirements.
- Partner with HR, compensation, relocation, background-screening, and onboarding teams to support a smooth hiring process.
- Represent Valmont at targeted recruiting events and manage external search or advertising partners when needed.
- Share sourcing practices, tools, and market knowledge with colleagues and provide coaching to interns or less-experienced team members as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, associate degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or 9+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including substantial hands-on sourcing and successful hiring through offer acceptance.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and engage passive talent, build pipelines, and recruit for specialized or difficult-to-fill roles.
- Experience advising and influencing hiring managers and senior leaders throughout the recruiting process.
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HR systems; experience maintaining accurate, timely recruiting data and reports.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and sound, consistent selection practices.
- Strong business acumen, organization, communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong candidate and client experience.
- Ability to travel occasionally and support occasional evening or weekend recruiting events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Experience using Workday Recruiting and contemporary sourcing platforms and techniques.
- Experience with senior-level, technical, or highly specialized searches.
- Professional certification in talent acquisition, sourcing, or human resources.
Reporting Relationship and Travel:
- Reports to the Vice President, Talent and Capability and has no direct or indirect reports.
- Minimal travel is required.
