Apply now.\nCompensation: $27.73/hr. + $2/hr. shift differential\nSchedule: 3rd shift, Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.\nA Brief Summary of This Position\nThe Shape Cutter/Crane Operator is an individual contributor role that encompasses multiple duties including operating a shaper cutter, operating overhead cranes, and managing the inventory in a plate yard, amongst many other duties. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are a must. This critical position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-sufficient individual that possesses the skills and abilities to successfully manage priorities throughout the day to prepare, load and communicate materials needed for the upcoming production schedule.\nEssential Functions:\nMaintain well organized inventory locations and records, including regular cycle counts\nUnderstand and follow daily production schedules\nPrepare, load and communicate materials needed for next 24 hours of production scheduleProficient use of an overhead crane to load and unload material\nExecute movement of materials based off of daily schedules\nLocate and position material onto a burn table for processing\n\nUnderstand and interpret prints in order to program equipment correctly\nCommunicate with multiple resources to gather and provide information for material movement and processing\nRemove and properly dispose of scrap from burn table\nOperate and maintain all equipment used in the material processing area\nMonitor trailer and railcar weight limits; communicate accordingly\nImportant Details about the Role\nDemonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures\nPerform various other duties required to ensure customer requests are met\nThis position reports to the Large Pole Production Supervisor\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\n3-5 years of relevant experience\nExcellent communication skills - including both written and verbal\nProficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and IFS.\nProficient with basic math skills\nAbility to accurately read and use a tape measure, compass, micrometer, mag level, protractor, pressure gauges, and caliper\nProficient in reading flat sheets and prints\nCommunicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications\nOne year of previous experience programming CNC machinery\nOne year of previous experience operating a forklift\n5+ years relevant experience\n3+ years' experience managing inventory\n\nOther Requirements Candidates Must Possess For This Position\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is 20 pounds\nAbility to stand, stoop, bend, sit and squat for up to 100% of the shift\nAbility to operate forklifts and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently\nAbility to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as working outdoors in various weather conditions.\nAbility to wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment) for working in the production facility\nThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow direction\nMust have a high awareness for safety at all times\nMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
