A Brief Summary of This Position
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position in the Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will Lead, Train, and Coordinate the daily activities of the Shipping and Receiving Team Members and the Production Scheduler.
Essential Functions
- Directly supervise the Shipping and Receiving Department.
- Coordinate receiving and shipping needs with production schedules to meet the requirements of customers
- Handle yard storage and inventories of customer materials
- Monitor and audit incoming and outgoing shipping activities of customer material
- Review and validate shipping instructions and schedules
- Work directly with the Production Scheduler to create and revise schedules and priorities
- Complete root cause investigations of damages or shortages in customer loads
- Coordinate Shipping and Receiving functions and communicate with Equipment Operators, Production Supervisors, Crew Leads, Customer Service Rep and Scheduler
- Be actively engaged in Safety Meetings, Training and Mentoring
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Three years of previous Supervisory Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of Lean training
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and side loader equipment.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- Three years Shipping and Receiving or Distribution position
- Ability to communicate and interact with co-workers in a positive manner
- Solid decision making and problem solving skills
- Ability of manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of Visual Shop
- Three or more years of Lean
