Apply now.\nAnticipated Compensation Range: $112,300-$140,200\nA Brief Summary of This Position:\nThis position is accountable for the analysis and reporting of site financial data including sales, cost of sales, margin analysis, inventory valuation and reconciliation, manufacturing performance, manufacturing variances, income statements, balance sheets, operational variances, capital expenditures, forecast/planning and special projects. The individual is expected to prepare and analyze the site’s annual financial plan, as well as develop, review and maintain control procedures regarding financial and operational controls of the business unit and prepare/review monthly general ledger account reconciliations.\nEssential Functions:\nThis position reports to the North America Controllership Director with dotted-line responsibilities to the Plant Manager\nThe position supports two small plants, generally with revenue of $75M or less\nThe site controller manages one direct report, the site accounting associate\nPrepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies\nEstablishes rigorous and disciplined accounting and internal controls. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for:Ensuring financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows) are compliant with US GAAP and accurate without exception\nAdherence to all Valmont financial policies\nAccurate inventory valuation including periodic cycle counts and valuation in compliance with FIFO, accurate standard costs, accounting for standard cost variances, and inventory reserves compliant with Valmont policy\nAccurate and timely customer invoicing\nRevenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP\nReceivables valuation including maintenance of subledgers, reconciling items and reserves in compliance with policy\nWarranty accruals, reflective of known and/or expected failures and costs to remediate\nExpense accruals\nPayables, accrued liabilities and debt balances\nBalance sheet reconciliations, including maintaining records of the supporting detail and business activities that validate the balance sheet amount\nSOX controls. Includes ensuring all controls have an owner and are self-tested. \nEnsure all journal entries are properly supported and documented\n\nCollaborate closely with the site operations finance/controllers to build out reporting for daily, weekly, and monthly needs related to various operational measurements.\nManages working capitalWorks with operations to manage inventory, ensuring material is ordered when needed and supported by documented sales orders, contract or forecasts\nWorks with the business to ensure working capital is sufficient to fund best-in-class business as well as cognizant of need for cash flow\n\nAssist in preparing, implementing, and monitoring the Annual Operating Plan and various financial reports/statistics to ensure adherence to short and long-range financial goals. Monitor performance to plan throughout the year and communicate variances to Plant Manager and site operational staff\nAdminister policies and procedures supporting the Plant Manager and operational staff to ensure maximum productivity and throughput, reduce operating cost, support Lean activities and ensure the safest possible plant operations\nOversees monthly Accounting close activities in accordance with established procedures to ensure timely completion and accurate information\nMonitor facility’s profitability, margins, inventory transactions while identifying problems and potential problems and offer solutions to resolve issues\nPerform statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to site performance and present findings\nAble to effectively communicate with employees, outside vendors and agencies\nMaintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles\nConduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes\nEnforce Accountability - Hold yourself and others accountable for maintaining an ethical and competent work environment through example setting, reporting, and resolution of any ineffective control or unethical conduct\nProvide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources\nThis role requires up to 10% travel domestically, including overnight stays\nOther Important Details about the Role:\nRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate:\nPreferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent with 7+ years of experience, or associates degree with 9+ years, or 11+ years of experience.\nProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nStrong analytical, thinking and reasoning skills\nDetail and goal oriented\nStrong initiative and ability to make decisions, take action and solve problems\nLeadership abilities to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions\nSound judgement skills\nAbility to work in a matrix environment\nResponsible - ability to hold oneself accountable or answerable for one’s conduct\nHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting\nCPA\n4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment\nWorking knowledge of Accounting software and manufacturing ERP (SAGE, IFS)\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
