Apply now.\nLocation: Valley, NE (onsite) | Start Date: Spring/Summer 2027\nA Brief Summary of This Position:\nValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Structural Engineering Intern position in Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be an active participant in contributing to the goals of the Coatings Engineering team, while learning best practices from some of the finest Engineers in the world. You will learn a tremendous amount in this role and will be given exposure to other parts of the business, including subject matter experts from a wide variety of divisions and professions.\nValmont’s internship program mission is provide a hands-on learning experience through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.\nWhat You'll Do:\nModel the Valmont 4 core values - Integrity, Continuous Improvement, Passion and Deliver Results\nLearn while working with our Structural Engineering Manager, P.E., S.E.\nInspect properties to assess existing conditions of foundations and building structures\nField measure and perform load and capacity calculations\nEvaluate and select appropriate construction materials\nProvide technical advice\nDetermine and obtain planning and/or building regulations approval\nLiaise with relevant professional staff such as architects, engineers, etc.\nMonitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors\nAdminister contracts\nManage projects and prepare scope of work documents\nPrepare reports, designs and drawings\nWhat We're Looking For:\nRising junior or senior pursuing a Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university, with a preference for candidates majoring in Civil or Structural Engineering\nProficiency with CAD applications, including the ability to convert drawings to 3D models\nStrong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\nWhat You’ll Gain:\nPaid internship with meaningful, career-related work experience\nTuition assistance and other benefits are available based on hours worked\nFull-time and flexible during the summer, part-time during the academic year, with potential for a full-time position post-graduation.\nA supportive culture focused on learning and growth\nOpportunities to collaborate with intern peers and company leaders\nBenefits\nValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
