The role is the main link between drivers, customers, brokers, and the operations team.\nDepartment: Operations\nReports to: Dispatch Manager / Operations Manager\nEmployment type: Full-time, non-exempt\n Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday shift 7:00a - 7:00p or 7:00p - 7:00a (hiring for both day and night shifts)\nLocation: Al's Towing and Storage Sterling, VA\nKey responsibilities\nLoad planning and assignment\nAssign loads to drivers based on location, equipment, hours of service, and delivery windows\nBuild efficient routes that cut empty miles, fuel cost, and tolls\nBook and confirm pickup and delivery appointments with shippers and receivers\nDriver communication and support\nAct as each driver's first point of contact throughout the shift\nTrack trucks via ELD/GPS and confirm check-calls, arrivals, and departures\nReroute drivers around delays, weather, road closures, and breakdowns\nCoordinate roadside assistance, repairs, and recovery with Maintenance\nCustomer service\nGive customers and brokers accurate ETAs and proactive delay notices\nResolve service failures, detention, and accessorial issues quickly and professionally\nCompliance and safety\nPlan loads within FMCSA hours-of-service limits;
