You will own our AWS estate end to end, from networking, compute and data stores through to identity, monitoring, backups and cost, across shared and customer-dedicated environments. You will work closely with our DevOps engineer, who leads on CI/CD, so that pipelines and environments evolve together.\nYou will also build. When a customer needs a dedicated environment you will stand it up from our Terraform templates, connect it to monitoring, identity and backup, hand it over with clear documentation and manage it through its life. You will be comfortable writing code, whether that is Terraform modules, serverless functions or automation scripts, because at SDS infrastructure and product are built by the same team Finally, you will be the link between the infrastructure and the people who depend on it: our developers, our ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials auditors, and the IT and security teams of our customers, particularly enterprise housing providers.\nWhat you will do\nOwn and operate: keep every environment healthy, patched, backed up and recoverable across Linux and Windows Server, and administer MongoDB for availability and performance.\nBuild as code: create and evolve environments through Terraform, treat drift as a defect, and move us towards hardened, repeatable builds.\nSecure the platform: own IAM and least privilege, secrets and certificates, encryption, logging and security tooling, and act on what they tell you.\nMake it observable: build the monitoring, alerting and dashboards that let us find problems before customers do, and own infrastructure incident response.\nSupport compliance: keep our ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials evidence, asset registers and diagrams current, and present them to auditors and customers on request.\nAutomate and develop: remove manual work with scripts and serverless automation, and contribute to our codebase where infrastructure and application meet.\nDocument and coach: own the infrastructure documentation set, define the standards the team follows, and help developers work safely with the platform.\nWork with customers: join onboarding and procurement conversations, understand hosting, identity and security requirements, and turn them into clear environment designs\nRequirements\nSeveral years running production Infrastructure in AWS, with real depth in networking, compute, IAM, storage and monitoring\nStrong Terraform: writing modules, managing state and building environments from code\nConfident administering both Linux and Windows Server\nHands-on MongoDB operational experience (replica sets, backups, performance, upgrades)\nA solid coding background in at least one of Python, PowerShell, Bash or C# / .NET, and the habit of automating anything you do twice\nPractical understanding of security controls and what ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials expect of an infrastructure team\nClear written documentation and the discipline to keep it current\nThe confidence to explain technical decisions plainly to customers, auditors and developers\nDesirable\nAWS certification such as Solutions \nArchitect, SysOps Administrator or Security Specialty\nMongoDB, Linux or Microsoft server certifications\nExperience with an identity provider and SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC, SCIM)\nContainers, orchestration or
