This means using modern AI coding tools every day to move faster, solve complex problems and improve development quality-not simply adding AI to an existing product. You will take ownership of important product and platform initiatives from initial design through production. You will work across our AI agents, backend services, hotel integrations and internal tools to build systems that are reliable, scalable and safe for real-world guest interactions.\nKey responsibilities:\nDesign, build, test and deploy production-grade software across Sadie’s AI and integration platform \nDevelop reliable workflows that combine large language models, business logic, APIs and real time hotel data \nBuild and improve integrations with hotel PMS, booking, payment, telephony and customer service platforms \nUse AI development tools throughout the engineering lifecycle, including research, prototyping, coding, testing, debugging, documentation and code review \nImprove the accuracy, latency, reliability and cost efficiency of Sadie’s AI agents \nBuild evaluation frameworks, monitoring and safeguards for AI-driven workflows \nDiagnose complex production issues across distributed systems, third-party APIs and real-time voice interactions \nMake sound architectural decisions while maintaining the speed and practicality required in a growing company \nCollaborate directly with product, customer success, hotel partners and other engineers to translate operational problems into effective technical solutions \nMentor other engineers and raise the standard for engineering quality, ownership and AI-first development across the team\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to security, observability, testing and deployment best practices \nTake responsibility for outcomes in production, not only for completing assigned development tasks\nRequirements\nAt least five years of professional software engineering experience, including experience owning complex systems in production\nStrong backend engineering skills in Python, TypeScript or another modern programming language\nDemonstrated ability to use AI coding tools as a core part of daily development and to validate their output with sound engineering judgment\nPractical experience building products with large language models, generative AI or agentic workflows\nUnderstanding of prompt design, structured outputs, tool calling, retrieval, context management and LLM evaluation\nStrong experience designing and integrating REST APIs, webhooks and third-party services\nExperience with databases, distributed systems, asynchronous processing and cloud infrastructure\nStrong understanding of testing, observability, performance, security and reliable production operations\nAbility to independently move from an ambiguous business problem to a well-designed, deployed solution\nExcellent debugging, communication and technical decision-making skills\nHigh level of ownership, urgency and attention to detail\nComfortable working in a
