Many projects ensure that life-changing drugs are available to those who need them; others streamline production to meet demand at a lower cost, allowing for the discovery of new and innovative therapies.\nVALIDATION ENGINEER - ENTRY LEVEL\nLocation: Royersford, PA\nValspec is looking for an entry-level Validation Engineer interested in automation, control systems, and life sciences manufacturing.\nThis is a great opportunity for a recent engineering graduate who wants to build hands-on experience with the computerized and automated systems used to manufacture pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biologics, and cell and gene therapy products. You’ll learn how these systems are tested and validated to help ensure manufacturing processes operate safely, consistently, and in compliance with industry requirements.\nExperience through a co-op or internship in life sciences, chemical or industrial engineering, manufacturing, automation, or a related technical environment is preferred, but not required. This position is based in Royersford, PA and may occasionally require travel to client sites.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nLearn to test and validate computerized and automated manufacturing systems used in regulated life sciences environments.\nExecute Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) protocols for process control and automation systems.\nWork with technologies such as Emerson DeltaV, PLCs, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and data historians such as OSI PI.\nTest system components and functionality, which may include controllers, servers, network switches, virtual machines, batch execution, security, and HMI configuration.\nDocument testing results accurately and identify issues or deviations discovered during testing.\nAuthor deviations for failed test steps and perform required retesting.\nAssist with the preparation and review of qualification and validation summary reports.\nCollaborate with Valspec engineers, project teams, and client personnel to support successful project execution.\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\nRecent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.\nStrong interest in automation, control systems, validation, and life sciences manufacturing.\nInternship, co-op, academic project, or early-career experience involving automation, manufacturing, process controls, or engineering is preferred.\nBasic understanding of engineering documentation and automated systems such as PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES, or industrial networks is helpful.\nExposure to Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or Honeywell systems is a plus, but not required.\nPrevious exposure to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or another FDA-regulated environment is preferred, but not required.\nExposure to IQ, OQ, PQ, commissioning, qualification, or validation testing is a plus.\nStrong attention to detail, technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nMost importantly, a willingness to learn and develop your technical skills.\nWHY VALSPEC?\nFor an engineer early in their career, Valspec provides an opportunity to gain experience with automation and validation projects supporting leading life sciences manufacturers.
