The systems we build will ultimately be deployed across shipyards and industrial facilities throughout the country.\nThe Role\nValstad is seeking a full-stack product software engineer to build the applications connecting CAD models, manufacturing planning, robotic execution, and factory operations.\nYou will own features across interactive 3D interfaces, backend services, data models, APIs, and production infrastructure. The software you build will be used by engineers and operators to review manufacturing plans, manage revisions, release work, monitor robotic processes, and respond to production exceptions.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who can move comfortably between product decisions, frontend implementation, backend architecture, and technical systems involving geometry and physical equipment.\nWhat You Will Do\nBuild full-stack applications for robotic manufacturing workflows.\n\nDevelop interactive 3D tools for viewing parts, welds, fixtures, robot paths, and production sequences.\n\nBuild backend services, APIs, data models, and asynchronous workflows.\n\nDevelop CAD-import, model-validation, and geometry-processing pipelines.\n\nCreate tools for reviewing and modifying manufacturing plans.\n\nBuild operator interfaces for execution, recovery, inspection, and production status.\n\nModel revisions, approvals, traceability, and manufacturing state.\n\nConnect product software with robotics, sensors, and factory systems.\n\nOwn features from user discovery through deployment and production support.\n\nWork directly with engineers and operators on the factory floor.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\n4+ years of professional software-engineering experience.\n\nStrong full-stack development experience across frontend, backend, databases, and APIs.\n\nStrong TypeScript and React or comparable modern frontend-framework experience.\n\nExperience building and operating complex production applications.\n\nExperience designing backend systems, data models, and asynchronous services.\n\nStrong product judgment and ability to simplify complex technical workflows.\n\nAbility to independently own features from architecture through deployment.\n\nStrong testing, debugging, and production-software discipline.\n\nAbility to work closely with highly technical users.\n\nStrongly Preferred\nExperience developing production software in Rust.\n\nExperience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, WebGL, or similar 3D technology.\n\nExperience with CAD, computational geometry, graphics, or engineering software.\n\nExperience building systems that interact with robotics, automation, or physical equipment.\n\nFamiliarity with PostgreSQL, event-driven architectures, and edge-connected applications.\n\nExperience with STEP, glTF, STL, meshes, boundary representations, or geometry kernels.\n\nExperience in manufacturing, industrial automation, aerospace, defense, or another physical-product environment.\n\nWe are especially interested in engineers who enjoy owning the complete product surface rather than working exclusively on either frontend or backend systems.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3399,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":4,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-12T07:56:33Z"}],"liveness":{"score":34,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":1,"p_active":0.622,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":22,"expected_fill_days":19,"reasons":["conf:0","velocity","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/valstad-product-software-engineer-3dcad-manufacturing-workflows","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/valstad-product-software-engineer-3dcad-manufacturing-workflows.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-23T16:09:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
