This position may be a required to work evenings and weekends on various shifts as operationally required. Shift differential will apply when applicable.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\nInspects components, checks gauges and monitors fluid levels.\nMaintains, repairs, and/or replaces filters, pulleys and belts.\nReplaces gaskets, pumps and bearings.\nRefits and packs valves.\nTests and adds chemicals to systems.\nOils, greases and cleans components.\nConducts operational tests to ensure optimal equipment performance.\nMakes set point adjustments to physical plant equipment and related systems.\nPerforms related duties as required.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience:\nCompletion of Grade 12 and courses in the technical specialty and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.\nFourth Class Power Engineer Certificate or equivalent/higher is required\nSound related experience in the maintenance of HVAC equipment and of Worksafe BC indoor airquality regulations\nA current and valid BC Driver’s License and a Satisfactory driving record\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nConsiderable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building system components and related installations.\nWorking knowledge of building systems and the provincial regulations governing operations.\nAbility to operate and adjust equipment and automated control systems (DCC) such as Delta and Reliable controls, make complex repairs and replace components.\nAbility to develop work plans, adapt work methods and estimate materials.\nAbility to maintain records and to prepare reports.\nSkill in the care and use of tools and testing equipment.\nGood sound judgement and effective interpersonal skills\nWorking knowledge of MS Office software is preferred.\nA Police Record Check is a requirement of this position.
