This role manages the administrative, contractual, technical, and commercial aspects of change order development, ensuring accurate pricing, scope definition, schedule impact assessments, and compliance with customer requirements. Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Sales Engineering, suppliers, and customers, the Change Order Manager drives timely approvals, monitors performance metrics, and supports effective project cost and change management.\nOverview\nLead the end-to-end change order process, including scope evaluation, pricing, proposal development, submission, and approval.\nCoordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to assess technical, commercial, contractual, and schedule impacts.\nMaintain accurate change order records, pricing methodologies, approval statuses, and customer response timelines.\nMonitor change management performance, communicate progress, and identify opportunities to improve processes and commercial outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nChange Order Management and Customer Coordination: Own the administrative, contractual, and technical aspects of change order bidding. Serve as the primary point of contact for change order pricing, lead internal and customer-facing meetings, manage submissions, and ensure proposals meet customer requirements. Drive change orders from initiation through approval and handoff to Project Managers.\nScope Evaluation and Pricing: Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Sales Engineering, and other stakeholders to identify, qualify, and price changes. Evaluate scope, equipment requirements, resource needs, risks, opportunities, and third-party supplier impacts. Ensure schedule assessments are completed and accurately reflected in pricing, and obtain required internal approvals.\nCommercial Proposals and Contract Support: Consolidate technical and commercial inputs into clear customer proposals outlining scope, schedule, and cost impacts. Obtain quotations and cost estimates from subcontractors and suppliers, maintain customer-approved pricing templates and methodologies, and support feasibility studies and pricing evaluations. Provide administrative and commercial support to Contract and Commercial Managers on large or complex changes.\nReporting and Continuous Improvement: Maintain the change order log, tracking status, approved values, and customer response timelines. Monitor key performance indicators and customer approval metrics, provide weekly status reports to project stakeholders, facilitate meetings with clear agendas and documentation, and identify opportunities to improve change management processes and commercial performance.\nQualifications / Requirements\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent project management experience will also be considered.\nExperience managing project changes, change orders, variations, claims, or project controls in engineering, construction, industrial, manufacturing, or a related environment.\nStrong commercial acumen and understanding of project scope, risk management, contract obligations, cost impacts, and schedule considerations.\nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.\nPreferred\nExperience in contract administration, project controls, estimating, or commercial project management.\nKnowledge of change management processes, cost estimating, project scheduling, and risk assessment.\nFamiliarity with ERP, project management, and cost management systems.\nProfessional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or equivalent.\nWhat We Offer\nOpportunities to contribute to complex automation projects and commercial project management activities.\nA collaborative environment working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.\nOpportunities to develop expertise in change management, commercial strategy, and project controls.\nA hybrid work arrangement based in Marietta, Georgia, with three days per week in the office.\nAdditional Requirements\nLocation: Marietta, GA.\nWork Arrangement: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.\nTravel: Up to 20% as required.\n Professional Expectations: Must demonstrate ownership, accountability, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while building strong working relationships across departments.\nEEOC Statement\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
