You are responsible for being proactive in reporting and resolving logistic, technical or organizational problems and having good communication with the customer about progress, out of scope work, non-conformities, timely payments and all other site related issues. This position requires 80% - 90% travel.\nResponsibilities & Tasks:\nManages site-based execution of medium to large projects (project size ranging from $50M - $100M)\nDraws up a challenging site-based project plan (including commissioning and integration) and leads the complete execution on site\nP&L - budget responsible for all site related costs\nManages site-based contracts with high project risk and complex installed equipment\nProfound understanding of contracts and able to effectively mitigate related risks\nUnderstands claim avoidance and when necessary, claim handling\nManages quality, time, costs and provision of information\nFull responsibility for reporting and escalating non conformities to customer and PM\nAbility to mobilize the complete site-based organization and connect to the internal organization\nTough negotiator with customer and subcontractors. Manages contract issues in a professional way\nManages stakeholders at any level, including senior management (in- and outside Vanderlande)\nTakes ownership over all site related challenges\nMulti-disciplined and looks further than borders of own field\nManage the high-quality execution of the installation process (schedule, quality) according the Vanderlande process map\nResponsible for the site safety by creating, implementing and securing the site safety plan \nIs responsible to organize all HSE related activities on site\nCommunicate with customer about progress, out of scope work and all site related issues\nBasic qualifications:\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in a position of managing complex projects and systems\nLeadership capability to create a unified and motivated project team\nProven track record in on site management of larger/complex installations with high level of automation\nAbility to manage a team of mechanical and electrical supervisors assuring that work is executed as per the project schedule\nSound knowledge of contract law\nExperience serving as on-site representative while building relationships with clients\nAbility to obtain required security clearances to work in Vanderlande project sites\nValid passport in the event international travel is required\nMust have valid drivers’ license\n Willingness to travel up to 80% - 90% (domestic)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFour-year college degree in technical field\nMaterial handling system experience\nOSHA Certification\nKnowledge-Skills-Abilities:\nDemonstrable leadership skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nInternational and multicultural awareness\nResource planning and site organization\nSafety awareness on the project manager's level\nAnalytical and strategy\nPro-active and decisive\nExperience serving as on-site representative while building relationships with clients\nWork Environment and Physical Demands:\nThe work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
