Vanderlande understands the complexities associated with operating a successful warehouse operation and delivers future proof logistic process automation.\nThese automation systems are composed of many (electro-)mechanical and IT components, built by teams in various parts of the world and must be integrated with other (software) systems to support the processes of our customers.\nYour position\nAs an Integration Engineer, your part of the integration team and involved in integrating the various components and (sub)systems into a solution. This is especially challenging for large and complex systems consisting of individual carrier systems, automatic storage and retrieval systems, automated guided vehicles, robots, conveyors, control software and IT infrastructure. You test the system to ensure that it works according to the design. Often, testing involves attempts to intentionally break the system to identify any problem areas, based on an analysis of technical risks. Test- and integration engineers contribute to the success of projects through their superior knowledge of the system as a whole, its operational objectives, how its parts work together, and the technical factors that go into its development.\nKey tasks and responsibilities:\nCreate test case designs based on test plan and design documentation.\nProgram stubs/drivers (test harness).\nCreate test scripts (for automatic tests).\nPrepare test environment (setup IT infra, deploy software and tooling, configure system).\nOperate system (using GUI and scripts/commands) and test environments (e.g. emulation models).\nAlign with stakeholders on test execution and defect solution (internally with product teams and development, externally with user representatives).\nExecute tests (both in factory and on site) and log results.\nVerification of solutions to defects.\nCreate test reports.\nCreate issue reports (in change management tooling).\nManage and coordinate groups of people for test preparation and execution.\nPerform zone level testing supporting PLC / SCADA commissioning\nPerform area level testing supporting PLC / SCADA commissioning\nDocument integrated system level testing for PLC and SCADA commissioning (Low Volume / High Volume test) \nRequired qualification:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or Equivalent or 1 year of experience in implementation of material handling systems or industrial controls systems or 1 years of experience in PLC applications (Allen-Bradley Preferred, Siemens is also valuable).\nMust be willing and able to travel 60% routinely, with increased amounts if projects demand.\nThis position may require occasional on-call after-hours support.\nGood communication skills in English.\nProactive and willingness to learn.\nOwnership culture.\nKnowledge of computer systems and Windows (personal computers).\nMust be able to communicate effectively.\nMust have the ability to properly prioritize work/activities.\nAbility to work in a team and autonomous situations.\nTeam mentality and willingness to accept responsibility for project completion.\nPossess a strong ability to solve problems and research solutions\nDesired qualifications:\nSolid understanding of Electrical controls hardware design and 480 VAC / 120VAC / 24VDC power distribution.\nSolid understanding of networking principles and computer hardware selection and setup.\nCapable of programming in SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, or equivalent\nLogical mentality, skilled in understanding and designing Engineering Science: Logic & Programming\nSolid understanding of PLC programming in industrial controls (Allen-Bradley Preferred, Siemens is also valuable).\nPhysical requirements:\nAbility to climb a 2-story ladder and walk a mile in 20 minutes.\nCapable of lifting, up to, 30 lbs. and working 10 hours standing, sitting, walking, or climbing stairs.\nComfortable working in both office and factory/construction environments.\nDuties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\nReasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nVanderlande is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
