This includes managing maintenance personnel, coordinating support for Neighbor Island flight operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all maintenance functions. This role ensures operational excellence by aligning with customer expectations, subcontractor capabilities, and internal performance standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe execution of all maintenance activities.\nDevelop and manage staff schedules, ensuring optimal manpower allocation and skill coverage across shifts.\nMonitor team performance and proactively implement performance improvement initiatives.\nLiaise regularly with the customer, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure seamless operational integration and communication.\nIdentify and implement opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.\nMaintain direct communication with the customer’s management team to develop collaborative solutions and maintain strong relationships.\nMaintain regular contact with corporate headquarters to align strategic maintenance activities and reporting.\nOversee maintenance scheduling, resource planning, and task delegation.\nConduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.\nRotate team members to build cross-functional capabilities and enhance operational resilience.\nEnsure timely completion of maintenance tasks to support uninterrupted operations.\nReport on maintenance metrics, progress updates, and system performance to internal and external stakeholders.\nAnalyze maintenance processes for opportunities to improve quality, reliability, and safety.\nLeads a department of 30-40 individuals performing interrelated maintenance functions.\nResponsible for setting priorities, distributing workload, and monitoring performance quality.\nFocus on continuous improvement of departmental processes and team development.\nRequirements and Skills\nTechnical education in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering or similar to Baggage Handling Systems solutions (BHS).\n5+ years of experience in a technical role with a strong background in electromechanical systems.\n3+ years of leadership experience in maintenance or engineering team management.\nPreferred skills\nProven team leadership and performance management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in the local language is preferred.\nEffective interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.\nStrong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.\nAirport, baggage handling or parcel systems, airline, or similar experience preferred.\nOther Requirements:\nMust be able to attain and sustain an Airport ID Badge\nMust be able to attain and sustain a Customs & Border Protection Security Seal\nMust be able to attain and sustain an Airport issued driver’s permit\nWork Schedule\nStandard daytime hours, with flexibility to address operational needs or support shift activities.\nReports to: Regional Contract Manager / O&M Manager\nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
