You will lead your maintenance team and work closely with other teams to ensure efficient on-time preventive maintenance and swift troubleshooting when incidents arise with the material handling systems.\nThe ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, is comfortable with high-tech systems and automation, is customer service oriented, has experience in leading teams, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.\nEssential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):\nPromote and manage compliance with all relevant company policies and government regulations including, but not limited to: OSHA, company health and safety plans, contingency plans, and company training.\nLead by example through results-focused, people-centered direction, feedback, and coaching\nServe as first point of contact for all employee relations and material handling system operational issues\nDevelop effective processes to maintain system performance through shift changes, high volume periods, and irregular operations in conjunction with other stakeholders\nMaintain open and transparent relationships with customer and other vendor contacts to ensure maximum material handling system performance\nEnsure operational process consistency and employee development through the design and execution of standardized training and quality assessment programs\nFollow established escalation guidelines in the event of system downtime or irregular operations\nManage employee schedules and daily work assignments in conjunction with other stakeholders\nLeverage detailed reporting to understand system performance and implement continuous improvement projects around employee performance and system operations\nParticipate and lead (as necessary) team, site, and customer meetings to ensure open, effective communications centered on collaborative efforts to meet production goals\nRequired Education and Experience:\nMinimum 3 year technical experience in an industrial environment\nExperience working with mechanical, electrical and controls (PLC, PC) systems \n2 years of prior experience as a Lead Technician \nValid Driver’s License \nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering\nMinimum of 2 years Material Handling Experience \nMinimum of 1 year CMMS Experience preferred \nKnowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies):\nSelf-Starter and Pro-active \nDetail Oriented and Stress Resistant \nStrong Microsoft office skills - Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook\nCustomer Service Mentality\nInnovative and Self Assured \nDecision Making Ability \nAdaptable \nStrong leadership skills, troubleshooting and problem solving skills \nFully competent and versed in operations and maintenance \nFlexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs \nOrganizational and time management skills\nTeam player \nStrong verbal and written communication skills \nProactive and strong work ethic and initiative; who would like to grow and develop within the organization. \nWorking knowledge of computers and equipment \nAbility to solve problems under pressure \nPro-active attitude towards process improvement \nAbility to work independently \nKnowledge of OSHA and safety practices \nReliable with a can-do attitude\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nThis is a full-time position / 24/7 operation\nTravel:\nThis position requires no travel.\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nSupervises employees\nWork Environment and Physical Demands:\nThis position works in a distribution center environment. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain customer order deliveries. \nThe worker will work indoors \nWhile performing the maintenance aspect duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Operate and maintain equipment and measurement instruments. \nFrequently exposed to the material handling system, mechanical parts and vibration. \nThey will take the lead to identify and fix mechanical problems with machinery, and they commonly work with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.\nRegularly required to talk and hear through a handheld radio and telephone. The environment can also be loud because of equipment. \nKnowledge and utilization of PPE (i.e., safety glasses, gloves, etc.) is required. \nWorkers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. \nThis position is highly active andrequires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. \nThe employee at times will lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
