They carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at the mechanical and electrical level of the material handling system. This will be done during the dwell periods in between the flights and in the other non-operational hours.\nEssential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):\nInspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems\n\nCommunicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.\n\nInterpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).\n\nComplete Scheduled maintenance tasks and ensure job quality completion.\n\nReporting through CMMS\n\nAttend to Faults called out from the Control Room, supervisor or manager\n\nPreventive Maintenance - Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement\n\nTote running\n\nAttending to call outs, faults, alarms and warnings, in charge - supervising staff, scheduling, training\n\nAttending to stoppages and bag jams\n\nRequired Education and Experience:\nVocational or Technical Education Diploma\n\nTechnical experience in an industrial environment\n\nFlexible work schedule for 24/7 operations\n\nValid Driver’s License\n\nOther Requirements:\nMust be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMinimum 1 year CMMS experience\n\nMinimum 2 years of material handling experience\n\nWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems\n\nBasic knowledge of controls (PLC, PC) systems\n\nKnowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies)\nFlexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs\n\nTeam player with strong verbal and written communication skills\n\nCustomer and service oriented\n\nProactive and strong work ethic and initiative, who would like to grow and develop within the organization.\n\nWorking knowledge of computers and equipment\n\nAbility to solve problems under pressure\n\nPro-active attitude towards process improvement\n\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nFull time position; 24/7 operation; 3 shifts available; overtime and weekend work is common.\nTravel:\nThis position requires up no travel.\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nWork Environment and Physical Demands:\nThe work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job: Technicians work in the secured baggage handling areas, in repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.\nWorkers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. They will be lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts and vibration.
