You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across mechanical, electrical, software, and safety disciplines, supporting projects from concept through to implementation.\nWe are looking for people who enjoy solving engineering problems, working collaboratively, and developing their skills over time. If you are excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply - we value potential, learning mindset, and diverse perspectives.\nRole Responsibilities\nIn this role, you will support automation projects by creating mechanical designs and layouts for airport baggage handling systems. You’ll work in a structured engineering environment, while also contributing ideas and improvements as part of a supportive team.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nInterpreting user and project requirements, assessing feasibility, and applying relevant technical standards\n\nCollaborating with the Project Lead Engineer (PLE) and other disciplines to agree engineering activities, deliverables, and planning across the project life-cycle\n\nContributing to technical decisions on mechanical components and interfaces in a multidisciplinary setting\n\nEnsuring mechanical designs comply with applicable safety standards and regulations to ensure safety, quality and compliance\n\nSupporting design risk assessment activities and ensuring mechanical designs are developed in accordance with applicable safety legislation, CDM requirements and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle\n\nSupporting engineering planning activities, identifying technical risks and opportunities, and contributing to the successful delivery of project milestones.\n\nDesigning solutions that can be manufactured within agreed budgets\n\nWorking collaboratively with customers, suppliers and third-party partners while representing Vanderlande's professional and commercial interests throughout project delivery.\n\nCoordinating third-party equipment specifications and integration\n\nProducing project layout packages using tools such as AutoCAD and Revit\n\nMaintaining high-quality file and data management\n\nProducing clear engineering instructions and documentation\n\nContinuously developing your skills and contributing to improvements in processes and ways of working\n\nRole Qualification and Skills\nWe value engineers who bring curiosity, care and a collaborative mindset, along with technical capability.
