Acting as the technical focal point for steelworks, this role serves as the communication bridge between customers, project management, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.\nResponsibilities & Key Tasks\nProject Execution\nLead the engineering and technical delivery of steelworks packages, including BHS platforms, walkways, support structures, stairways, handrails, and related components.\nManage projects from detailed design through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and final customer handover.\nEnsure structural designs meet operational, safety, maintenance, and accessibility requirements.\nOversee the integration of steelworks with baggage handling equipment, electrical systems, controls, architecture, and civil interfaces.\nSupport constructability reviews and ensure practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.\nEnsure technical compliance with project specifications, local regulations, airport standards, and applicable international design codes.\nEngineering Leadership\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams involved in structural, mechanical, electrical, and installation activities.\nAct as the technical authority for all steelworks engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.\nReview and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation.\nProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to engineers, designers, and project team members.\nDrive engineering excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement within the project team.\nProject Planning & Coordination\nDevelop and maintain engineering execution plans, schedules, and deliverable tracking for steelworks activities.\nCoordinate engineering interfaces with Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Teams, Fabricators, and Subcontractors.\nMonitor engineering progress and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.\nCollaborate closely with procurement, construction, commissioning, and customer teams to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.\nSupport site activities and provide technical resolutions during fabrication and installation phases.\nDocumentation & Reporting\nPrepare and manage technical specifications, design reports, calculations, engineering procedures, and installation documentation.\nEnsure all engineering records and project documentation are accurately maintained and archived.\nSupport preparation of method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), risk assessments, and quality documentation.\nProvide regular progress updates, technical status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to Project Management and Engineering Management.\nBudget, Quality & Safety\nMonitor engineering budgets, resource utilization, and productivity targets.\nSupport project cost control by identifying optimization opportunities and managing scope changes.\nEnsure compliance with company quality standards and project quality requirements.\nConduct design risk assessments and support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives throughout the engineering phase.\nPromote a strong safety culture in both design and site execution activities.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n10+ years of total engineering experience in structural, civil, mechanical, industrial, or infrastructure engineering environments.\n Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structures, industrial systems, airport infrastructure, material handling systems, or comparable large-scale projects.\nDemonstrated experience leading engineering activities for complex steelworks projects.\nStrong understanding of structural design principles, steel fabrication processes, and installation methodologies.\nKnowledge of relevant structural design codes, standards, and regulations.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while balancing quality, schedule, cost, scope, and resources.\nStrong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 50% or as required by project needs.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional Engineering (PE), Chartered Engineer, or equivalent certification.\nProject Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).\nExperience with airport baggage handling systems (BHS) and supporting steelwork infrastructure.\nExperience with structural analysis and detailing software such as STAAD, SAP2000, RFEM, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or similar.\nFamiliarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary design coordination.\nExperience managing subcontractors, fabricators, and installation contractors.\nProven leadership experience managing project teams and mentoring engineering personnel.\nKnowledge of international airport design standards and material
