With a strong focus on technology, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we are committed to delivering reliable solutions for our customers while providing meaningful career opportunities for our employees.\nPosition summary:\nThe Safety Coordinator (LAX) is responsible for supporting the administration of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulatory compliance program for Vanderlande North America at the LAX airport, including the coordination of required documentation, reporting, and field-level implementation activities. The position also provides support for Workers’ Compensation case documentation and tracking.\nJob Tasks and Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with site leadership and operations teams to implement Vanderlande and LAX HSE requirements and to reinforce a proactive safety culture.\n\nConduct and document routine site inspections and audits; identify hazards and at-risk conditions; and ensure corrective actions are assigned, implemented, and closed in a timely manner.\n\nMaintain HSE records and regulatory compliance documentation, including inspection reports, training records, incident files, OSHA logs, and program documentation.\n\nDeliver toolbox talks, safety communications, and targeted training initiatives; support PPE requirements and emergency preparedness activities, as applicable.\n\nChair the site safety committee, including scheduling, agenda development, meeting minutes, and action-item tracking.\n\nAdminister VelocityEHS (incident reporting, investigations, inspections/audits, and corrective actions); ensure data integrity, trend analysis, and timely closure of action items.\n\nSupport incident response and reporting by coordinating required notifications, ensuring First Reports of Injury are completed, and assisting with Workers’ Compensation documentation and tracking.\n\nEvaluate trends associated with inspections, incidents, near misses, and observations, and recommend preventive controls and continuous improvement opportunities.\n\nMonitor inspection and audit findings, corrective action status, and required training completion; maintain trackers and provide routine status updates to site leadership.\n\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology or related fields.\n\n5+ years of experience with normal business-related software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint and EHS management software (e.g., VelocityEHS).\n\nUnderstanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including one of the following: OSHA 501, 510, 511 / ASP\n\nExperience managing a process or procedure requiring a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.\n\nMust hold a valid driver’s license\n\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to pass 10-year background checks to the extent required by TSA and airport authorities is required.\n\nMust be able to attain and sustain an Airport ID Badge/ CBP Seal.\n\nMust be able to attain and sustain an Airport issued driver’s permit\n\nPreferred qualifications:\nBilingual English/Spanish is preferred\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines\n\nStrong ability to gather data and coordinate data entry.\n\nKnowledge-Skills-Abilities:\nDemonstrates a positive attitude and passion for health and safety and employee well-being.\n\nOrganize and manage tasks and priorities with precision and a sense of urgency\n\nAbility to accurately perceive issues and provide expertise to solve issues that arise.\n\nUnderstands and can demonstrate issue identification, resolution, tracking, and reporting.\n\nGood written and oral communication skills.\n\nDetail-oriented with good organizational skills.\n\nAbility to manage tracking issues and work resolution customer-center wide\n\nHigh levels of independence and assertiveness, and high ethical standards.\n\nLeadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback\n\nTaking the initiative, being responsive and proactive\n\nCooperation and teamplay\n\nCustomer orientation/service provision\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nTroubleshooting and analyzing skills\n\nDiscipline, Safety awareness, Results oriented\n\nStress resistance, ability to maintain overview in hectic environment\n\nFlexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly\n\nWorking knowledge of computers and equipment\n\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. With the expectation to be in a 24/7 operation\nReports to: Senior QHSE Program Manager (Airport)\nTravel:\nThis position might require up to 10% international travel for training/education.\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nThis role has no supervisory responsibility\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands for this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (transmit, convey, receive) information. The employee is occasionally (up to 25% of the time) required to carry and transfer up to between 50 and 120lbs.\nWork Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud due to aircraft engines and equipment. Employee works in the secured baggage handling area, repair station, airfield, office environment and other areas within the airport. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
