You will work closely with various teams to ensure efficient on-time preventive maintenance and swift troubleshooting when incidents arise.\nThe ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, is comfortable with high-tech systems and automation, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.\nThis role is crucial to our mission of providing the best service to our customer to make sure their business can thrive in Canada.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnician II will be relied upon for troubleshooting support for routine problems in the material handling system.\nResponsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical components such as: motors, motor-gearbox assemblies, rollers, bearings, shafts, sprockets\nResponsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical control components such as; photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, encoders, variable frequency drives\nCommunicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems\nInterpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system \nExecution of preventive maintenance (both electrical and mechanical)\nReporting of every executed maintenance activities in CMMS\nAnalysis of system errors\nReplacements of machine spare parts\nReporting of problems and maintenance activities that need attention\nAttending to call outs, faults, alarms, and warnings and monitor system from the Control Room\nCompliance with all Vanderlande programs, policies, and procedures\nPerform other duties / assignments that might be occasionally required by the management\nRequirements\nExperience of supporting automated systems with a proficient level of electro- mechanical skills\nElectrical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills, including the replacement and configuration of field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners etc.)\nMechanical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills (gearboxes / bearings / sprockets / drives etc.)\nExperience with electrical schematics / wiring diagrams\nSkilled in the use of standard electrical test instruments\nRelevant vocational and / or technical qualifications\nValid Driver license\nPreferred Qualifications\nElectrical License: Industrial Electrician Trade Certification or Certified Construction/Maintenance Electrician or \"Red Seal\" Industrial Millwright License\nWarehouse Operations experience\nConveyor services or material handling services experience\nCompletion of at least two years of electromechanical or electromechanical engineering technology studies at a recognized post-secondary institution\nKnowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies)\nWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems\nAbility to read diagrams, electrical drawings, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications\nKnowledge of use of hand tools, precision measuring and testing instruments\nFlexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs\nTeam player with strong verbal and written communication skills\nCustomer and service oriented\nWorking knowledge of computers and equipment\nAbility to solve problems under pressure\nPro-active attitude towards process improvement\nWorking in a stressful environment\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work\nFull time position; 24/7 operation\nTravel\nThis position requires no travel.\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (transmit, convey, receive) information. The employee is frequently (25% to 75%) required to climb, reach, sit, and access confined spaces that require kneeling, crawling, and other positions that require physical maneuvering. The employee is constantly (75% or more) required to move and lift objects (stacks of totes/ trays, tools, equipment, parts, etc.) of up to 50lbs; bend/twist; stoop; stand; walk; push-pull.
