This role is a hands-on, versatile engineer that will be dedicated to the development of a new high volume production line. They will also be the internal product owner and work closely with the customer, supporting their product development. The role works closely with our Production, Quality and Product teams, as well as Suppliers and Customers.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop processes and procedures for high complexity assemblies to meet customers’ requirements.\nDesign tools, jigs and fixtures for electromechanical assembly processes.\nLead the validation and verification of new production tooling/fixturing.\nEvaluate, commission, qualify and optimize new automated and semi-automated equipment.\nEnsure all equipment has the optimal preventative maintenance defined and establish new procedures.\nTroubleshoot equipment issues, working with both internal and external support to resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.\nCollect, analyze and drive action from manufacturing data.\nDisposition nonconforming products, lead Root Cause and Corrective Actions.\nUtilize Design of Experiments to establish new processes and drive improvements to existing.\nEngage with customers on a variety of technical discussions and support technical inquiries/requests.\nDrive DFX with data captured from process development, NPI builds and our internal knowledge base so that customers receive feedback in a timely manner and information is communicated effectively in a way that provides them with the highest value.\nEnsure all customer/regulatory requirements are met for product throughout all Vanguard processes.\nCreate, coordinate, review and approve internal product documentation.\nIdentify, communicate and mitigate risks using FMEA or equivalent tools.\nSupport production technicians and operators on issues that arise.\nBoth lead and support process improvement efforts with the team.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nEngineering Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related discipline. Or equivalent experience. \nCustomer service orientated (internal and external) with excellent written and oral communication skills.\nUS Citizen.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExisting Secret level clearance or ability and willingness to obtain clearance.\n2+ years experience in an electronics manufacturing setting.\nHands on experience with medium to high volume electromechanical assemblies.\nExperience with equipment and facility layout for optimized product throughput.\nDemonstrated experience with automated polymer dispense equipment and applications.\nHigh proficiency in part constraints, dimensioning, tolerancing and GD&T.\nDemonstrated expertise in designing tools and fixtures.\nDemonstrated experience selecting and qualifying new automated/capital equipment.\nPractical knowledge of equipment and process qualification using IQ, OQ, PQ or similar.\nDemonstrated experience setting up and executing DOE’s.\nDeep understanding of SPC and manufacturing data analysis.\nRobust understanding of material science as it relates to material selection for both product and tooling.\nExperience in an ISO9001 / AS9100 / ISO13485 certified quality management system.\nWorking knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, and/or ANSI/ESD S20.20.\nProficiency in business systems such as MES, PLM, ERP, MRB.\nThis Job Posting is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of all the responsibilities associated with this position.
