Senior UX Product Designer - Advisor Technology

Join a growing UX team focused on evolving client-centered digital experiences for financial professionals. In this role, you will work closely with UX Strategists, Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Analytics partners, and business stakeholders to create innovative solutions that balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.

As a senior individual contributor, you will lead experience design efforts from discovery through delivery, applying user-centered design methods, research insights, and strong product thinking to solve complex challenges. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong collaboration, excellent design craft, and the ability to influence stakeholders while championing financial advisor needs and exceptional user experiences.

We are passionate about setting a new standard for digital experiences and are looking for like-minded individuals. Join a team of self-starters who are tenacious and relentlessly curious. We exist to lead Vanguard into the future.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end experiences for advisor-facing digital products.

  • Translate client insights and business objectives into intuitive, elegant, and scalable design solutions while balancing human judgement with AI assistance.

  • Produce high-quality design artifacts (user flows, wireframes, prototypes, specs) that clearly communicate intent and are ready for development.

  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to inform and drive design decisions. Validate solutions through usability testing, pilots, and ongoing feedback loops.

  • Collaborate with UX Strategists, Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Analytics partners, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Support planning, facilitation, and synthesis from design thinking workshops, journey mapping, and ideation sessions with sales teams and cross functional partners.

  • Present and “sell” design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders. Demonstrate the ability to champion the best possible user experience.

  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure design quality throughout implementation.

  • Contribute to design systems, standards, and UX best practices, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of UX, Product Design, or related experience.

  • Expertise in interaction design, visual design, prototyping, information architecture, and design thinking.

  • Proven experience solving complex communication problems and designing world-class experiences for large-scale programs.

  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions.

  • Strong communication, storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • A high degree of creativity, empathy, passion, and problem-solving ability.

  • High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail in design execution.

  • Experience partnering with Product Management, Engineering teams, and Research in agile or lean environments.

  • Experience leveraging generative AI or emerging tools to drive innovation within the design process.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing advisor-facing, financial services, fintech, or enterprise software products.

  • Familiarity with design systems and scalable design patterns.

  • Experience facilitating workshops and collaborative design sessions.

  • Comfort operating in fast paced, evolving product environments with shifting priorities.

  • Interest in AI-driven experiences and emerging technologies.

  • Experience incorporating AI capabilities into digital products or design workflows.
