May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, outside professional engineering and planning consultants, and other assigned staff.\nPosition Description & Responsibilities:\nManage the production of a wide range of environmental documents, including Initial Studies, Negative Declarations/Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, permit applications, plans and review technical reports and other similar documents.\nConduct environmental reviews, analyses, and preparation of CEQA related documents or letters and other environmental documents, laws and regulations.\nProvide direction to project managers regarding compliance with State and federal laws, regulations and policy.\nCoordinate technical studies and consult with other agencies and institutions engaged in related environmental analysis, management, planning, regulation, investigation, and research.\nPrepare environmental permit applications and plans\nOversee the development of compliance documents such as Phase I/II reports, and historic evaluations by contracted vendors for Judicial Council buildings and assets\nPosition Tasks and Essential Functions:\nManage scientific and technical consultants\nPrepare Initial Studies for proposed projects\nDetermine the compliance and environmental impact of various projects\nOversee environmental services and act as project lead for CEQA related activities\nReview CEQA documents and evaluate and comment on technical reports\nReview environmental impact reports and other documents to determine the effects of proposed activities on environmental health and all areas of the environment\nMeet and confer with individuals and groups to obtain compliance with laws and regulations concerning environmental requirements of California and Federal governments\nCoordinate field work, including biological surveys, habitat assessments, vegetation mapping and state and federal waters delineations on projects in California\nDirect field team management and review of specialized site assessments\nDevelop and manage project budgets, schedules, proposal preparation, task order preparation and contract compliance\nDirect the preparation of Negative Declarations, EIRS, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and supporting technical studies\nOversee multiple projects simultaneously within scope/schedule/budget expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables\nCoordinate and direct necessary records review, site visits, physical soil, water and vapor testing as required to understand environmental site conditions\nPrepare environmental permit applications, plans, and other compliance documents such as Phase I/II reports and historic evaluations for proposed projects\nProvide subject matter expertise on local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to the management of natural resources and environmental planning for proposed projects.\nPerforms other duties as required\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Planning, or equivalent is required (Extensive relevant environmental planning management experience in place of education may be considered)\n5+ years of progressively responsible CEQA/environmental planning experience, including experience managing CEQA projects\nKnowledge and application of master planning, A/E, CEQA, Engineering, and planning professional services consultant solicitations, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required\nPersonally prepared/reviewed CEQA documents.Technical expertise with EIRs, MNDs, ISs, and current CEQA guidelines and case law is required. \nLed CEQA projects - scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.\nStrong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera are required\nProficiency with various document control systems\nPE, ACIP Certification (American Institute of Certified Planners) preferred\nBenefits\nVanir offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that includes 401(k) Savings with employer matching contributions, medical, dental, vision, health savings account (HSA) with employer contributions, life, AD&D and disability benefits, flexible spending account (FSA), voluntary benefits, Teladoc, pet insurance, paid time off, national employee assistance program (EAP) and employee referral program.\nHow to Apply\nIf you're interested in working for Vanir please visit our website to learn more and to apply online at www.vanir.com.\nVEVRAA Federal Contractor\nRequest Priority Protected Veteran Referrals\nEOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled\nContact Email: \nPersons with medical limitations may, with reasonable accommodations, be capable of performing the duties of this position.
