education (K-12 and higher); justice and essential services; science and technology; state and local government; transportation; water and wastewater; energy; and commercial, residential and nonprofit markets.\nJob Description\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nOversee the staff, projects, programs, and activities of the Landscape Unit, providingprofessional leadership, technical direction, and guidance in the planning, design, development,and implementation of landscape architecture and greening projects\nProvide technical direction and professional oversight to consultant landscape architects andother design professionals engaged in District landscape architecture, greening, irrigation,grading, and related projects\nServe as Landscape Architect of Record for District-designed projects and assume professionalresponsibility for the preparation, review, coordination, and certification of landscapearchitectural plans, specifications, and related technical documents\nPlans, develops, and directs highly complex landscape architectural projects involvinglandscape design, site planning, greening, irrigation systems, grading, planting, hardscape, andrelated site improvements\nPrepares and certifies plans, specifications, and other professional documents in accordancewith applicable laws, codes, standards, and District requirements\nLeads the design and development of in-house landscape architecture, greening, and land-useplanning projects, applying professional judgment to establish design solutions\nDirect and supervise the preparation, review, and coordination of landscape architecturaldrawings, specifications, construction documents, and design revisions for new landscapingand modifications to existing landscapes\nDirects and oversees the development, review, negotiation, and processing of Design ServiceProposals, scopes of work, and related documents for landscape architectural and greeningdesign services\nLeads coordination and community engagement related to landscape architectural andgreening projects with school principals, teachers, parent groups, nonprofit organizations, andother community stakeholders; evaluates input and incorporates appropriate requirements intoproject development\nReviews, negotiates, and approves task orders, scopes of work, proposals, and relatedconsultant documents for landscape architectural and related professional services\nPrepares and reviews cost estimates, evaluate materials and equipment, establish appropriateinstallation methods, and assess project delivery methods\nConducts site visits and field investigations; evaluates existing site conditions, reviewsconstruction and installation progress, identifies design and technical issues, and providesprofessional direction to resolve issues affecting landscape and greening projects\nReviews and approves technical documentation supporting grant applications for landscapearchitecture, greening, sustainability, and related projects;
