If you're interested, we recommend applying as soon as possible. \n\nShape the data foundations powering the next chapter of Vanquis \nOur data landscape is evolving at pace, and our growing Data Architecture team is creating the models and standards that will support trusted insight, reporting and operational decision-making across Vanquis. \nAs our Data Modeller, you will translate complex business needs into clear, scalable logical and physical data models. You will work hands-on across a wide range of projects, helping to develop our Data Vault approach, shape how data modelling is done and set standards that will influence what comes next. \nThis is a growth role within a team that currently includes two permanent colleagues. Reporting to the Lead Data Architect, you will have the autonomy to roll up your sleeves, solve problems and make a visible contribution from the outset. \n\nHow you’ll make an impact: \nYou’ll… \nSo that…\nOwn, maintain and improve our data modelling standards and patterns.\nVanquis has consistent, reusable approaches that improve quality and speed of delivery.\nDevelop and advocate Data Vault methodology, designing data warehouse and data product models.\nOur data foundations are scalable, clear and aligned to business and analytical needs.\nTranslate business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models.\nData Engineering teams can build solutions from accurate, practical designs.\nModel Salesforce and wider operational data, including\nflows, transformations and mappings.\nNew initiatives and migrations are supported by a trusted view of how data connects.\nWork closely with architects, analysts, engineers, governance and security colleagues.\nComplex requirements and design decisions are understood, challenged and resolved.\nReview modelling artefacts and present designs in technical forums.\nStandards are maintained and stakeholders can make informed decisions with confidence.\n\nWhy this role matters:\nReliable data models underpin insight, reporting and operational processes across Vanquis. If your experience is stronger in another area, we are also interested in substantial data warehouse and database design expertise. \nThe ability to translate complex business requirements into clear conceptual, logical and physical data models. \nStrong knowledge of dimensional, entity-relationship and normalisation techniques. \nPractical SQL skills and experience exploring data to inform design decisions. \nA delivery-focused mindset, with the confidence to take ownership, work autonomously and get involved in the detail. \nClear communication and the ability to explain and influence data design decisions with technical and non-technical stakeholders. \n\nUseful, but not essential\nExperience designing models for Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse. \nKnowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud, Customer 360 or Financial Services Cloud. \nExperience with SQLDBM, Erwin or comparable data modelling tools. \nPython experience and familiarity with Azure-based data toolsets. \nExperience in regulated financial services and an understanding of GDPR or PCI DSS. \n\nThe Interview Process \nOur recruitment process typically includes: \n A competency interview, up to 45 minutes with the hiring team\nA technical interview, up to 45 minutes with the hiring team\n\nYour Key Contacts \nTalent Acquisition Operations Manager: Samantha Mackay Hiring Manager: Luke Vincent \nInternal candidates are encouraged to reach out informally before applying.
