Your skill in safely operating forklifts and handling inventory ensures efficient operations, accurate fulfillment, and alignment with our standards for safety, quality, and excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafely operate equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks & scissor lifts.\nHelp maintain a safe & clean work environment throughout facility.\nLabeling, sorting, and relocating items within the warehouse.\nManaging inventory by using scanning system & proper bin allocation.\nCommunicates with warehouse clerk to effectively manage & prioritize the shipping schedule regarding all things inbound/outbound. \nFollows & ensuring the proper use of tablets & scanners for all warehouse operations. \nDocumentation of material usage using detailed information. \nOccasionally ensures warehouse clerk correctly documents items in the “Receiving Log” - correct UofM, LOT#, vendor, inspections etc. \nIdentify & report any damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies of materials.\nConduct complete inventory counts as needed upon supervisor request.In the absence of a forklift driver, another operator will cover their responsibilities if needed.\n\nCheck freezer and coolers units to ensure all equipment is working efficiently & report any unusual signs.\nWalk inside the freezers, coolers, and warehouse areas to verify that everything is clean and organized with its respective label. \nOther duties as requested by management\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nCertifications & Skill Requirements\nForklift certification\nRF scanner experience\nAbility to read & write clearly\n Qualifications\nPrior forklift experience is necessary. \nPrior experience in warehousing/manufacturing is helpful. \nMust be detail-oriented and able to multi-task well. \nUnderstanding of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).\nFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\n Work Environment\nDock/Warehouse environment \nMust be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually entire shift. \nOccasionally required to balance or climb.\nFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nMust be willing to work in cold, wet, hot, and humid environments. \nMust be able to operate in cold temperatures (-10 to 20 degrees).\nOccasionally required to balance or climb.\nFrequently exposed to airborne particles\nEEOC\nVans Kitchen is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
