Vantage’s business is growing exponentially through a combination of greenfield market expansion and acquisitions across North America and Europe.\nPosition Overview\nThe Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data for the company’s entities across different regions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple financial reporting tasks, liaising with auditors, and supporting system enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be adept at working both independently and as part of a team. This role is based in Labuan, Malaysia.\nEssential Job Functions\nMonth-End Closing: Responsible for the month-end closing process for assigned entities, including the preparation of monthly journal entries, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.\n\nAudit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.\n\nManagement Accounts Preparation: Compile and present management accounts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.\n\nBalance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.\n\nSystem Enhancements and Implementation: Involve in the documentation and implementation of system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.\n\nAd-Hoc Responsibilities: Handle various ad-hoc matters as needed, providing support to the finance team and other departments.\n\nDuties\nExecute month-end closing activities, including the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis\n\nPrepare accurate and compliant financial statements for audit purposes and other reporting requirements\n\nLiaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to facilitate smooth audit processes\n\nDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes and controls\n\nContribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes\n\nAssist in special projects, such as system upgrades, policy changes, and other initiatives\n\nMaintain compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations\n\nJob Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n\nExperience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-national or with Big 4 audit firms\n\nStrong understanding of accounting standards\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with many simultaneous priorities from time to time and meet deadlines.\n\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.\n\nPersonal Attributes:\n\nHigh integrity and professionalism.\n\nProactive and adaptable to change.\n\nTeam player with a collaborative mindset.\n\nWe operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
