Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.\nPosition Overview\nVantage Data Centers is looking for a Director, Pre-Construction, APAC to provide overall pre-construction leadership for the growing Design, Engineering and Construction team and key internal partners, including New Site Development (NSD) and Site Selection (SSA), as the company expands across the region.\nThis role will be responsible for new and existing developments across new and existing sites, Working with Stakeholder teams on Due Diligence works on new sites, providing Design and Construction inputs (through consultation with the DE&C Teams), development of concept and schematic design with the Engineering team, Assisting with Consultant engagements and on-boarding, entitlement and permitting, and all aspects of pre-construction with general contractors and Project Management teams.\nAs a leader, this position will work seamlessly with multiple projects and teams, ensuring all pre-construction activities are aligned with strategic corporate objectives and supporting successful project delivery from early development through construction readiness.\nEssential Job Functions\nLead development and planning approval processes, including master and precinct planning, development planning, and construction permitting\nSupport utilities provisioning negotiations, with particular emphasis on power and networking provision with the NSD team\nPartner with project teams to resolve data center designs that deliver Tier III data centers at optimal cost and in alignment with design parameters\nWork with the Project Controls team to advise on programme, cost, buildability, regional statutory, consultant, and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).\nManage Vantage’s build partners through technical feedback, review, and active participation in schedule and budget management during the pre-construction phase.\nDuties\nAssist with procurement and tender strategy for professional services, works, and where applicable, supply contracts for significant plant and equipment in partnership with the APAC OFCI team\n\nWork with Project Controls on pre-construction programmes and micro-programmes, and contribute to the master construction programme\n\nWork with general contractors, architects, and engineers to lead the project ECI phase\n\nManage direct reports, third-party project management resources, and staffing utilization\n\nCreate and manage RFPs for consultants and providers\n\nObtain project budgets, working with the Construction Commercial Team\n\nPartner with stakeholders in Construction Cost and Finance to produce monthly project forecasts, including variance analyses\n\nEnsure lessons learned are captured and placed into the feedback loop to drive continuous improvement\n\nJob Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar field, or equivalent experience\n\n7 to 10 years of experience in a management role required; 10 to 15 years preferred\n\nComplex and technical construction experience required\n\nData center experience preferred\n\nExperience in CSA and MEP construction management required\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as MS Project or P6\n\nExperience developing executive-level presentations\n\nSubstantial project management experience preferred; PMP certification\n\nWe operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
