The department collaborates with Sales, Design Engineering, Information Technology, Operational Technology, Procurement, New Site Development, Construction, Billing, Operations and Management to ensure the system continues to fulfill Vantage customer requirements. Automation Systems works closely with partner contractors to ensure the site specific the best design and helps manage these partners to success by providing accurate requirements, goals, and timelines. In addition to design and construction, we are also responsible for assuring the technical requirements of the Operations department are met.\nPosition Overview\nThis role will be based at our data center campus in Port Washington, WI, in accordance with our hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days flexible).\nVantage is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager, Automation Systems Delivery, North America who leads the delivery architecture and cross-functional execution of complex automation programs for new data center capacity and major expansions. The role connects design, controls engineering, procurement, system integrators, construction, commissioning, and operations to deliver production-ready automation capabilities with clear scope, sequence, risk ownership, and acceptance criteria.\nEssential Job Functions\nOwn integrated program plans for BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLC, controls-network, and related automation workstreams across assigned projects. \nTranslate technical and business requirements into scope, milestones, dependencies, decision points, readiness gates, and measurable outcomes. \nLead delivery governance across internal teams, engineering firms, system integrators, contractors, and vendors; surface variance early and drive recovery plans. \nManage program-level schedule, budget, commercial dependencies, risks, issues, changes, and executive reporting. \nCoordinate design reviews, submittals, factory and software testing, site integration, commissioning, turnover, and operational acceptance. \nEnsure configurations, code, documentation, asset data, cybersecurity requirements, training, and support models are complete before handoff. \nMake recommendations on sequencing, resource allocation, vendor performance, and technical-delivery tradeoffs; escalate decisions with material cost, schedule, reliability, or customer impact. \nCreate repeatable delivery methods, templates, metrics, and lessons learned that improve predictability across the portfolio. \nHandle additional duties as assigned by Management. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, Program Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. \nTypically, 10+ years delivering complex technical, controls, infrastructure, or mission-critical programs. \nDemonstrated experience managing integrated hardware, software, network, vendor, construction, and commissioning dependencies. \nStrong knowledge of program governance, risk management, change control, schedule and cost management, and executive communication. \nWorking knowledge of BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLCs, OT networks, controls integration, or data center commissioning. \nTravel throughout North America is expected to be approximately 25% but may change over time as business needs evolve. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPMP or PgMP; data center or industrial automation experience; experience with Ignition, Rockwell, Niagara, or similar platforms. \nSuccess Profile\nAutomation scope is delivered safely, on schedule, within approved cost, and ready for sustained operations. \nProgram risks and cross-project dependencies are visible early enough for leaders to act. \nHandoffs include complete technical documentation, training, support ownership, and acceptance evidence. \nPhysical Demands and Special Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
