We have an immediate opening for a Cybersecurity Engineering Specialist.\nOverview: \nVPS is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Specialist with a passion for information security, risk management, and consulting. The Cybersecurity team works with organizations across multiple industries to assess cybersecurity risks, improve security programs, and assist clients with meeting regulatory and industry expectations. Team members are exposed to a wide variety of technologies, environments, and security challenges while working alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals.\nThis role is an entry-level to mid-level cybersecurity position responsible for supporting client engagements, performing security assessments, contributing to internal security initiatives, and assisting with the development of security documentation and processes. As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will work on a diverse range of projects including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, policy reviews, social engineering engagements, compliance assessments, and technical security reviews. The candidate will be expected to manage multiple assignments concurrently while maintaining a high level of quality, professionalism, and attention to detail.\nResponsibilities: \nAssist in and conduct cybersecurity assessments, including:\nVulnerability Assessments\nPenetration Assessments\nPolicy reviews\nSocial Engineering engagements for phishing and vishing\nTechnical network reviews for clients\nCollaborate with cybersecurity team members and cross-functional departments to evaluate risks, recommend solutions, and implement process improvements.\nResearch emerging threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and industry best practices to support client and organizational security initiatives.\nSupport vulnerability management activities, including identifying, validating, documenting, and tracking remediation of security findings.\nParticipate in the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, procedures, and supporting documentation.\nRespond to internal and client requests in a professional, timely, and courteous manner.\nCommunicate technical cybersecurity concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nContribute to continuous improvement of assessment methodologies, security tools, and team knowledge through collaboration and knowledge sharing.\nWillingness to travel at least once per year to Mitchell, South Dakota, and occasionally for client engagements, training, or team meetings.\nQualifications & Requirements:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and communicate cybersecurity risks effectively.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity principles including vulnerability management, access control, network security, endpoint security, and risk management.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality work products.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, security concepts, compliance frameworks, and assessment methodologies.\nPosition is subject to a successful background check.\nDepending on experience, the position will either be onsite in Mitchell, SD, or remote.\nEducation & Experience: \nBachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer information systems, computer science, or a related field is required.\nExperience performing or assisting with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, policy reviews, risk assessments, or compliance reviews is preferred.\nFamiliarity with common security frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF & SP 800-53, CIS Controls, CMMC, SOC 2, or FFIEC guidance is preferred.\nUnderstanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.\nExperience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, endpoint security platforms, SIEM solutions, or phishing assessment platforms is a plus.\nKnowledge of Windows, Linux, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and cloud technologies is preferred.\n3 years of experience in a network administration role or similar position preferred.\nSecurity+, CySA+, or similar certification preferred.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nThis position offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), and more.\nAbout Vantage Point Solutions:\nVantage Point Solutions was founded in 2002 by a team who believed in putting people - both employees and clients - first.
