You will influence how our automation standards evolve, collaborate with industry-leading vendors, and support some of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developments.\nIf you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, influencing engineering standards and working across multiple disciplines, we would love to hear from you.\nWhat you will be doing\nAs a Senior Automation Design Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across multiple projects and engineering initiatives, including:\nSupporting automation design from early concept through to detailed delivery\n\nDeveloping and maintaining secure, scalable automation architectures\n\nReviewing consultant designs and providing technical guidance\n\nDesigning and improving OT networking solutions\n\nSupporting automation standards and ensuring designs remain aligned with emerging technologies and cybersecurity requirements\n\nTroubleshooting complex automation issues on live sites\n\nCollaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams across EMEA\n\nDriving continuous improvement, innovation and engineering best practice\n\nProducing high-quality technical documentation and design deliverables\n\nDevelopment and testing of PLC and SCADA Code Libraries.\n\nNo two days are the same, giving you exposure to everything from strategic initiatives and design reviews through to live operational support.\nWhat we are looking for\nWe are looking for an experienced automation engineer who enjoys working beyond traditional project delivery and wants to influence engineering standards across a growing international business.\nIdeally, you will bring experience in several of the following areas:\nAutomation & Control Systems\nSCADA platforms (Ignition experience would be highly advantageous)\n\nPLC platforms such as Rockwell ControlLogix or CompactLogix\n\nIndustrial automation design and control systems\n\nEPMS or power monitoring systems\n\nOT Networking & Cybersecurity\nYou will have a solid understanding of industrial networking technologies including:\nCisco or Stratix,Fortinet or Junipernetworking\n\nVLANs, routing and network redundancy\n\nIndustrialfirewalls\n\nOT Cybersecurity principles including IEC62443\n\nIndustrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP, MQTT and OPC\n\nNetwork architecture including Purdue Model, CPwE and DMZ design\n\nEngineering Design\nExperience producing or reviewing technical documentation such as:\nControl system architectures\n\nNetwork diagrams\n\nIO Lists\n\nCable schedules\n\nInstrumentation documentation\n\nControl panel and IO system design\n\nAbout you\nYou are an experienced automation engineer with aroundsix or more years' experience working within industrial automation, critical infrastructure, data centres, systems integration or an engineering consultancy. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and are just as comfortable reviewing designs and developing engineering standards as you are supporting project delivery. You take pride in producing high-quality technical documentation, have a naturally organised approach to your work, and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, scalable automationsolutions. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive mindset are essential, as you will be working closely with stakeholders across EMEA while helping drive continuous improvement, innovation and engineering best practice.
