This role will be performed in our Vantor facility located in Herndon, Virginia and the customer site in Springfield, VA.\nAs a Vantor team member, you will have the opportunity to closely support our mission partners, and your work will have a direct impact on mission imperatives. In this role, you will work closely with software developers, ETL engineers, Big Data SMEs, as well our infrastructure and cybersecurity teams leveraging open-source tools to create and maintain a diverse range of applications.\nAbout The Team:\nWe are a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed cloud infrastructure with a true big-data footprint (over 20 petabytes).\n\nOur diverse background of experience in mission support and software development serves as a catalyst to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems in support of special operations analysts and their on-going activities.\n\nPrototyping and frequent, iterative feedback are core to our delivery approach, anchored by a need to work quickly in support of our missions.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\nResponsible for performing and developing dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.\n\nShaping data engineering approaches for analytic tradecraft improvements within our applications.\n\nIdentifying and documenting gaps within our data corpus and analytical capabilities.\n\nWorking hand-in-hand with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as changes are implemented into an application.\n\nWorking with end-users to provide SME support for various data or application questions and requests.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nMust have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.\n\nBachelors degree in a relevant field. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.\n\nAt least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist or similar.\n\nExperience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of technical data types based on previous research and work with data sets of interest. Data types of interest include Technical Telemetry Data and other forms of telecommunication protocol data types, including cellular and wi-fi.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMust be a self-starter with excellent time-management skills and the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent tasks.\n\nMust be experienced working in fast-paced environments.\n\nExperience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate the technical implementation for custom applications.\n\nExperience working with a scripting language like Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark or similar.\n\nMust be able to work on-site in Herndon, VA, with the ability to work in Springfield, VA as needed.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAbility to translate technical conclusions and present them to a broader audience.\n\nExperience conducting geospatial analysis including Activity-Based Intelligence or Pattern of Life analysis.\n\nExperience applying, improving, and documenting innovative analytic methodologies and ensuring they remain up to date with the latest information.\n\nExperience with Elasticsearch/Kibana.\n\nExperience in a customer facing role.\n\nFamiliarity with Gitlab and the Software Development Lifecycle.\n\nExperience working with Jupyter Notebooks or Apache Zepplin.\n\nExperience working with other intel analysts and/or special operations customers.\n\nLI-Onsite\nPay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range.
