Employment for cleared roles is contingent upon verification of clearance status.\n\nExport Control/ITAR: Certain roles may be subject to U.S. export control laws, requiring U.S. person status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).\nPlease review the job details below.\nThis position requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level.\nWe are seeking a motivated, technically capable Junior Data Engineer to support the development, integration, operation, and maintenance of a large-scale data analytics platform supporting a U.S. Government customer. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and analytics team to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows that ingest, transform, integrate, and prepare large volumes of structured and unstructured data for analytical use.\nThe Data Engineer will contribute to the implementation and optimization of scalable data solutions, support data quality and governance initiatives, and help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the platform in a mission-focused environment.\nPrincipal Responsibilities:\nData Pipeline Development: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines supporting large-scale data analytics. \nData Processing and Integration: Support the integration and processing of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from diverse sources using distributed data processing technologies. \nData Platform Support: Assist with the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of data engineering components within cloud-based, on-premises, or hybrid environments. \nData Quality and Performance: Implement data validation, quality assurance, and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, availability, and processing efficiency. \nCollaboration and Documentation: Work with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and government stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions; document workflows, processes, and technical designs. \nMinimum Qualifications:\nMust be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance (with a willingness to obtain a CI poly).\nBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, engineering or a related technical field with 1-4 of relevant experience in data engineering, software development, analytics, database administration, or a related technical field. Relevant internships or project experience may be considered. \nDemonstrated experience in data engineering, software development, database engineering, or a related technical discipline. \nWorking proficiency in Python and SQL and/or Elastic, with experience developing scripts, data transformations, and automated data processing workflows. \nExperience with relational databases or distributed data processing technologies, and a basic understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration.\nWillingness to work onsite at least 90% (or as needs dictate).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nData engineering platforms and tools such as Apache NiFi, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, or OpenShift \nDistributed data platforms such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or Hive \nCloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud \nContainers and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes \nData workflow tools such as Apache Airflow \nCI/CD, Git, DevSecOps, or automated testing \nData governance, metadata, lineage, or security \nGovernment, defense, intelligence, or other regulated environments\nPay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.
