The successful candidate will design, deploy, and sustain enterprise storage solutions that support high-performance computing (HPC), private-cloud platforms, and mission applications.\nThe Storage Engineer will work across the storage lifecycle, from architecture and capacity planning through deployment, operations, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. This role will help ensure storage services remain available, secure, scalable, and capable of meeting mission performance requirements.\nAbout Our Team\nOur program team is a multifaceted software development and systems administration team building and maintaining mission applications supported by self-managed HPC infrastructure on a private-cloud system. We are responsible for the full technology stack, from hardware and infrastructure through platform services and the user interface.\nWe work across engineering, operations, and development to integrate and sustain capabilities in secure environments. Team members contribute throughout the system lifecycle, with a focus on reliability, performance, security, and mission delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nWork 100% full time in-person in a high security environment\nDesign, deploy, configure, and manage enterprise storage systems supporting secure, mission-critical environments.\nEnsure storage solutions provide high availability, redundancy, data integrity, and disaster recovery across multiple data centers and physical sites.\nMonitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, and scalability while minimizing service interruptions.\nAdminister storage area networks (SANs), including utilization monitoring, capacity planning, and adjustment of storage allocations to meet changing requirements.\nPerform infrastructure assessments, updates, and patches to maintain performance, security, and compliance with organizational standards.\nTroubleshoot storage issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, hardware failures, and data access failures; conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.\nSupport backup and recovery capabilities and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.\nDevelop and maintain storage architecture documentation, configurations, procedures, and operational guidance.\nSupport security initiatives and ensure storage systems comply with applicable security policies, regulations, and best practices.\nEvaluate storage technologies and recommend solutions that improve performance, efficiency, reliability, and scalability.\nCollaborate with systems, platform, virtualization, networking, and application teams to integrate storage services into HPC and private-cloud environments.\nSupport storage deployments and operations in test and operational environments.\nMinimum Requirements\nCurrent Top Secret/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph.\nMust meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements within one month of start date through at least one of the following certifications: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.\nBachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited university, or three additional years of storage operations experience in lieu of the degree.\n8 years of related experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) systems.\n5+ years of experience in storage operations or storage engineering. \nExperience with backup solutions, storage infrastructure, storage systems, and systems architecture.\nExperience administering, architecting, and supporting SANs throughout their full lifecycle.\nExperience with storage utilization monitoring, capacity planning, and adjusting storage requirements.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and communicate findings to technical teams and stakeholders.\nStrong documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in an air-gapped, disconnected environment.\nExperience supporting virtualized environments such as VMware, OpenShift or OpenStack.\nIn-depth knowledge of Dell/EMC storage solutions and hyperconverged infrastructure.\nExperience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.\nExperience installing and maintaining physical hardware systems in data centers. \nKnowledge of multiple technology areas, including storage, virtualization, networking, data migration, and disaster recovery.\nExperience supporting HPC or private-cloud infrastructure in secure, classified, or restricted environments.\nPay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range.
