About the Opportunity:
We’re partnering with one of the world’s leading industrial manufacturing companies to build ventures that will redefine how the physical world operates. This is a rare opportunity to work shoulder-to-shoulder with a global market leader, tackling high-impact problems with cutting-edge technology and taking a bold idea from 0 to 1.
As a Venture General Manager (GM), you will be the primary driver of this venture - leading a dedicated cross-functional team to build and scale an internal product platform tailored to our corporate partner. You’ll navigate complex corporate stakeholder environments, manage partner alignment, and guide the team through architecture, data integration, platform development, and adoption. This role requires an entrepreneurial, business-minded builder with exceptional technical depth in data engineering, data transformation, and modern data infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
Lead the Venture and Team
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for the venture, transforming a service-oriented need into a robust, scalable internal data platform.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of data engineers, software developers, product leaders, and data scientists building complex enterprise data integrations.
- Build deep trust and serve as a strategic thought partner with executive and technical stakeholders across the corporate partner enterprise.
- Lead investor and partner steering meetings, aligning Vantora, the corporate partner, and internal stakeholders on venture progress and priorities.
- Manage multiple product builds concurrently.
Shape the Product and Business
- Translate big-picture strategy into tangible roadmaps, balancing speed, quality, and learning.
- Drive rapid validation - using customer discovery, prototype testing, and iterative development to ensure market fit.
- Define data architecture strategy, governance models, and data lineage standards to maximize platform adoption across internal business units.
- Identify and manage external partners (consulting firms, development shops, research agencies) to accelerate execution.
Operate Like a Founder
- Own the venture P&L, allocate resources effectively, and make disciplined build-buy-partner decisions.
- Act as an interim CEO/GM as ventures spin out, ensuring continuity, investor readiness, and operational traction.
- Build a high-performance, mission-driven venture culture, bridging startup energy with enterprise scale.
- Drive deep platform integration and adoption across enterprise teams, enabling autonomous agents and advanced AI applications.
Who you are:
- You have built and shipped products from scratch - not just iterated on existing ones.
- You thrive in ambiguity - and know how to structure chaos into a roadmap.
- You’re a storyteller and influencer - you can get buy-in from executives, engineers, and investors alike.
- You are an experienced technical leader with domain expertise in large-scale data infrastructure and data architecture.
- You have a strong technical pedigree from top-tier technology companies known for complex data engineering challenges
- You excel at navigating large corporate matrices and turning complex, custom service requests into scalable product platforms.
- You’re a hands-on builder - comfortable jumping between customer interviews, Figma mocks, AI tools, PRDs, and code.
- You think like an entrepreneur - not waiting for permission, but making things happen.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
- 9+ years in technical product management, preferably in early-stage B2B SaaS startups.
- Experience in 0-to-1 product development, including MVP scoping, rapid iteration, and GTM strategy.
- Experience leading technical data engineering focused products that operate in and address enterprise grade data challenges.
- Proven track record of designing or managing enterprise-scale data platforms that aggregate disparate legacy systems (ERPs, proprietary data stores) into unified lakes/warehouses.
- Deep knowledge of powering LLMs, agentic workflows, machine learning models, and real-time analytics using modern data stack tooling.
- A knack for deconstructing new industries and business models quickly.
- Ability to move fast without sacrificing quality, balancing speed and thoughtfulness in execution.
- Experience in high-stakes communication - aligning execs, partners, and investors around product vision.
- Strong experience driving enterprise internal adoption and managing stakeholder relationships without relying on external GTM motions.
